This article describes the use of the AECT utility within the AMS installation folder, that will check your PC specs to see if AMS can be installed. This is only a "guide" as to the recommended specs for installing AMS.   Step by step guide   Navigate to the location where you unzipped the AMS installation files. Select the AddOns folder. Double click the AECT folder.   Next, right click on AECT 1.0.0.7 and select "run as administrator".   On the next window that appears, select the option "to start in Master mode click" - select.   On the next window, open the XML folder.   Double click on the AMS3.0 file.  **this is valid for V4 as well** On the next dialog box, under the "role" column, select the option "AMS Server".   Click on the "Run" tab to start the check process.   Check all the results to see if they are successful. If ANY of the results, "with the exception of WindowsPerformanceindex", have failed, it may prevent/corrupt the installation of AMS.   If the results are successful, you may continue with the installation of AMS. When trying to access the Access Easy Controller via Microsoft Edge, Chrome or other web browsers, you may get an error, "the connection for this site is not secure", which prevents you from connecting to the AEC.   Possible causes and solution(s)   Causes   This error has been caused by an update in the web browsers. Exactly what in the update has caused the issue is unknown.   Solution   There are currently 3 workarounds to this issue: Uninstall the current version of web browser you are using to access the AEC - Edge, Chrome, etc. Install a version of that browser from early to mid January. Most of them will be version 97.x.xxxx. Once installed and you are able to login to the AEC, make sure you DISABLE automatic updates for that browser or the error will eventually appear again. The disable updates process is different depending on which browser you are using. You can find them online. This option is not available on Windows 11! You can use the older web browser "Internet Explorer" to access the AEC as well. You may have to perform a search for it on newer PC's as it is not enabled by default. For Chrome and Microsoft Edge, there is a process to use them in "Internet Explorer" mode. Question   If I have a newer AEC firmware version, "2.1.9.x", can I downgrade it to 2.1.8.5?   Answer   While it is possible to downgrade the firmware to this version it is not recommended. Downgrading to this version will cause all stored AEC usernames and passwords to become unusable. Even the default user1/8088 will not work. The only option would be to default the entire AEC database and then reload a valid backup of the database. ... View more

Question   Can I upgrade the AEC firmware directly from 2.1.8.5 through 2.1.9.3 to the latest version 2.1.9.5 v1?   Answer   Unfortunately you can't do a direct upgrade to the latest version as there is a security vulnerability patch that isn't in the 2.1.9.5 firmware.
