Question - Why does the panel go into alarm when I connect the 2-Wire DUCT or Smoke Detector wiring to the UL Listed 2-Wire zone? If I reset the panel it goes right back into alarm after the reset is done.
Answer - The wiring is wired in reverse polarity or you have a short on the loop wiring. Use a meter to verify the polarity of the wire and that the loop is not shorted.
At the DUCT or smoke detector wire the positive to the Positive Terminal of the loop. The negative or common to Negative Terminal of the loop. Use a meter to verify the polarity of the wire.
*Note -Never trust the color of the wire. Voltage is color blind.
