How to Call the RPS from the Panel

Issue

What is the process to make the FACP  pick up the phone line and dial the remote programming computer?

Solution

First the computer phone number must be programmed into the panel:

1. Enter program mode and go to Program Accounts (6).
2. Choose 1 for Phone Numbers.
3. Choose 3 for Computer Phone.
4. Enter the phone number the panel should dial to reach the remote programming computer.
5. Press Command (#) to save the entry.
6. Press Clear (*) twice to return to the Program Modes menu.

Next, remote programming must be enabled if the panel program is to be changed during the remote programming session:

1. From the Program Modes menu, choose 3 for Program System.
2. Choose 7 for Remote Program
3. Press 1 to enable remote programming.
4. Press Clear (*) three times to exit program mode.

Finally, the panel must be told to pick up the line and dial out:

1. Press the Test button to enter test mode.
2. Press 3 for Call Remote
3. After entering a valid PIN with authority for programming, the panel will pick up the primary phone line and dial the phone number programmed for the computer phone.
