In 2002, Bosch Security Systems introduced four new products that are intended to eventually replace the existing D9112B1 and D7212B1 Control/Communicators. The D9112B1 will be replaced by the D9412 and D9112 Control/Communicators, and the D7212B1 will be replaced by the D7412 and D7212 Control/Communicators. Below are the features offered.
Access Control. The D9412/D7412 will support card or token control of the alarm system (each door requires a D9210B Access Control Module) using 26-bit Weigand readers. Access functions assigned by area authority level include access to area controlled by armed state and card/token controlled disarming. The D9210B Access Control Module communicates with the panel via the SDI bus (like command centers) and provides connections for all door functions including the card reader, door strike, door point and request to exit or enter inputs. The D9412/D7412 features new log events and reporting messages to support access control. Besides card/token control by users, access control doors can be programmed to automatically unlock on disarm and lock when the area is armed or be controlled from the keypad. Expanded Users. Each user can be programmed with a 16-character name, which can be sent to the D6500 receiver using Modem IIIa2 format.
Expanded Points and Point Codes. The D9412/D9112 now accommodates 238 off-board points to provide up to 246 detection points. Each D8125 Point of Protection Expander (POPEX) will now support 119 points; the D7412/D7212 accommodates up to 67 off-board points for a total of 75 points. New point codes have been added for fire and non-fire supervisory points and the new Detection Systems motion detectors that feature integrated POPITs.
Expanded Skeds. All panels now can accommodate up to 40 scheduled events (Skeds). Skeds on the D9412/D7412 can be programmed to execute one of 23 different functions (the D9112 and the D7212 support up to 14 functions and do not support the new access Skeds), now including control of the access doors, access levels and access event logging/printing.
Expanded Messages; Local and Remote Reporting. There are new messages for access, fire supervision, and users (including card token data and user names). New messages require updates to the D6500 Security Receiver (rev 08.00 or higher) and to the D9131A Parallel Printer Interface (rev 3.40). Each system now offers more flexibility in choosing messages that are reported to a local printer or the central station.
Custom Programming. Each system now offers custom programming for maximum flexibility. The regular programming options for specific areas (Report Groups for Routing, Printer Scope, and Command Center Scope) are defaulted to the parameters of the typical installation. You may choose to change these defaults by programming the associated Custom prompt. Selected prompts are only visible to the installer when Custom programming is chosen.
