How to perform a sesitivity test on the following MUX smoke heads, D7050, D7050TH, D7050DH, MX250, MX250TH & MX250DH.
Using a D1005 Test Cable plug it in to the smoke head with the head installed on it's base.
Using a Digital Volt Meter (DVM)
1. Plug a D1005 Test Cable (optional) into the calibration voltage pin. You can also meter the Center Pin with Positive Lead and either outside pin with the Negative Lead of the Meter.
2. Connect a digital voltmeter to the D1005.
3. Connect the meter’s negative terminal to the D1005’s black wire, and connect the meter’s positive terminal to the D1005’s red wire. The D1005’s white wire is not used. The voltage
measured by the voltmeter equals half the sensitivity (in %/ft obscuration) of the D7050. You should read between 1.05Vdc and 1.95Vdc with 1.5Vdc being perfect. If the dectector is outside this range the head needs to be clean or returned to the factory for calibration.
4. Recheck the calibration voltage measurement. If the detector is still outside the factory markedcalibration range after cleaning, return it to thefactory for recalibration.
