How can a relay be programmed to follow a point on an analog panel?
Solution
Perform the following to have a relay follow an event:
.) Go into commission mode on the panel
.) Choose 1 for configure
.) Choose the loop on which the point that will be tripping the relay is connected
.) Choose 2 for devices
.) Press No
.) Enter the address of the first point that is to trip the relay and then press Enter
.) Press change
.) Choose 3 for event
.) Enter in a three digit number between 001 and 800
.) Press No three times
.) Press Yes two times
.) Press 4 for Events
.) Press 3 for Define Outputs
.) Press Yes until the appropriate relay is reached
.) Press Change and type in the same three digit number entered in step 9 above
.) Press No two times and exit commission mode
The way that this works is when the input point (smoke detector, heat detector, call point, etc) goes into alarm, it will activate its event (chosen in step 9) and the event will trip its defined output (assigned in step 15).
