How do I upgrade/replace the panel MUX Expansion Module?
Solution
Perform the following procedure when upgrading/replacing the MUX expansion module:
- Receive the FACP programming with RPS. This programming will be sent back to the FACP later in this procedure.
- Remove the AC and battery power from the FACP.
- Remove the FPE-7039, D7039, or DS9431 MUX Expansion Module Card.
- Install the replacement FPE-7039, D7039, or DS9431 onto the FACP. Refer to the Installation Guide included with the MUX Card.
- Power the FACP on.
- If the message EEP INIT ERROR appears on the FACP display, press * or Back key to continue.
- Follow the prompts on the panel keypad, set the time and date, press * or Back key when the FACP finds the MUX expansion module and at the AUTO PROGRAM? Prompt, press 0 to select NO.
- Press PROG/0 to enter programming mode.
- Enter the PIN. The default PIN is 9876.
- Press 8 to select HISTORY DEFLTS.
- Press 2 to select DEFAULT EE.
- Press # to confirm, and then wait for the FACP to return to normal.
- Remove the AC and battery power from the FACP, then power the FACP on again.
- Connect at least one MUX device to the MUX BUSS.
- Power the FACP on.
- If the message EEP INIT ERROR appears on the FACP display, press (*) or Back key to continue.
- Follow the prompts on the panel keypad, set the time and date, press (*) or Back key when it finds the MUX Card and at the AUTO PROGRAM? Prompt, press 0 to select NO.
- Press PROG/0 to enter programming mode.
- Press 3 to select PROG SYSTEM.
- Press 7 to select REMOTE PGM.
- Press 1 to select ENABLE.
- Press * or Back twice. You should see PROG MODES on the first line of the display.
- Press 6 to select PROG ACC’NTS.
- Press 4 to select RING COUNT. Set the ring count to 02.
- Press #/CMD/Enter.
- Press (*) or Back 2 or 3 times to return the FACP to normal.
- From RPS, send the original program back to the panel.
