Overview
The replacement of a DS200 series smoke Detector. The DS200 Series smoke heads are obsolete with no direct replacement. The following will replace the DS200 Series smoke for all 4-wire applications. For 2 wire applications check to see that the replacement head is UL Listed compatible with the panel, either the smoke or the panel manufacturer need to have the smoke listed as compatible with the panel. Issue
The DS200 Series smoke heads are obsolete with no direct replacement.
Solution
We need to determine the BASE TYPE, MB200-4W or MB200-2W.
A) A 4-wire base will have a part number of MB200-4W. To locate this information look for a label on the underside of the base.
1) Replace the head DS200 using the 4 wire base with any 4 wire smoke detector.
B) A 2-wire base will have a part number of MB200-2W. To locate this information look for a label on the underside of the base.
1) Replace the head DS200 using the 2 wire base with any 2 wire smoke detector UL Listed compatible with the panel it is going on.
