Issue
Testing the FCP-500 using canned smoke.
Solution
- Place the test tool with the FAA-500-TTL test adapter with the magnet aginst the detector head.
- Turn the test tool until the magnet activates the dry reed contact (the dry reed contact is located between the CO sensor and the right side double sensor).
- Count three flashes then remove the magnet and the unit will stay in test mode for 60 seconds. The green LED will blink once a second to indicate test mode is active.
- While the unit is in test mode it can be sprayed with canned smoke (SoloAerosolA4) using the Solo 330, test tool for optical smoke detectors. The FCP-500 can take up to 20 seconds to activate an alarm once sprayed with canned smoke inside the Solo 330 test tool.
