Does the D7038 or DS9484 have to be connected directly to the panel, or can it be placed at the end of an existing notification circuit, with notification devices before it on the circuit?
Solution
The D7038 and DS9484 can be placed at any point in a notification appliance circuit as long as the voltage on the circuit is above 9VDC. This is done by setting DIP switch 1 to on and connecting the NAC circuit from the panel to the terminals labeled IN1+ and IN1- on the D7038 and placing the EOL resistor from the panel to the second IN1+ and the EOL1 terminals.
Also note: if the NAC circuit coming from the panel is synchronized, the output from the D7038 or DS9484 will also be synchronized.
