How does the trouble relay K5 work?

Phone Line Trouble Relay (K5)
Install a D136 Relay in the Phone Line Trouble Relay K5 socket (Item 10 in Figure 1) when using the optional Phone Line Trouble Relay (Terminals 13 to 15). This relay activates when a telephone line trouble is detected on either the primary or secondary telephone line, when there is a communication failure, and briefly on power up.
