What is Extra Point 256?
Solution
This can be caused by the Card Access part of the program. If there is more than one card access door programmed in the panel and one or more of the door point prompts are left blank, this will cause extra point 256 to be generated by the panel on a reboot.

Assign point numbers to the doors and program the points in the point assignments part of the program. If you do not intend to use the points you must still program them, but just strap them off with a resistor.
