The CHECK DIAL TONE trouble message is generated by 2000 series panels which are failing to communicate. The trouble may be generated by panels intended to communicate or even when the panel was intended to be local. See below for details.

- Verify proper phone voltage on the phone line.
- Correct phone issues when required.
- Note that digital compression (commonly used in modern phone systems) adversly affects alarm panel phone communications. In these cases a network communicator such as the B465 will be required to convert phone communications to network.
- Send a successful report to the monitoring company to clear the trouble.
- For panels displaying CHECK DIAL TONE which are not intended to communicate.
- The panel has a number programmed into the Phone 1 or Phone 2 parameter. The panel will supervise the phone line regardless of Route Groups programmed as Local.
