When the contact was first recognized by the panel, it saw a magnet and a reed switch , and learned the transmitter to be normal that way . The point had to be reprogrammed by deleting and re-adding it under a different point # to be seen as normal with an external contact only. Once both the magnet and supervised loop resistor have been seen by the panel, they both must be present for the panel to report a normal status for that zone. If the loop is supervised, and the magnet is present and then removed, the panel will report a trouble condition due to the missing magnet.
