A duress alarm event requires the use of a keypad and can be generated at a door that is configured for Card and PIN code required.
To generate the duress event, the cardholder needs to swipe his/her card, then enter a PIN number where the last number of the PIN is one digit higher than the cardholder's actual PIN code.
As an example, if the cardholder’s PIN code is 4567, then the duress code is 4568.
This would be used in scenarios where a person is being forced to use their code to gain access while under duress.
Note: In order to clear a Duress Alarm, the event must be acknowledged in the alarm activity page through the web interface.
