Short tones are generated when pressing keypad buttons while the delay or instant zones are faulted, indicating Not Ready to arm. The Instant and Delay LEDs will light when the related zones are normal.
When the D279/D279A is armed and the delay point is faulted, a solid tone will sound for 30 seconds to indicate the entry delay is activated. If a valid passcode is not entered by the end of the 30 seconds, the entry delay tone will silence and the internal relay, which may be connected to an optional annunciation device, will activate. When the delay zone is faulted the Delayed LED will extinguish. If the passcode is not entered during the entry delay the Armed LED will remain lit and the D279/D279A will go silent.
During exit delay the armed LED will flash for 60 seconds and the D279A will not generate an exit tone.
