Especially when using large databases it is advisable to make a backup occasionally in case something goes wrong. The manual describes ways to backup, restore and update the database quickly. This document describes how to use these options and when and also an alternative way for older versions.
When upgrading from a previous DICENTIS version that supports DANTE (V2.20 – V3.00) to the latest version 3.10, the following problem will occur; The DICENTIS system is not visible anymore in the Audinate’s DANTE controller software, where it was visible before the upgrade.
If accidentally a wrong country code is chosen during setup, there is no other way to change it in except for re-doing the setup, which in effect erases all prior changes made to the configuration. This article describes a way to set the country code without having to re-run the setup completely.
Click the Licensing button to open the Licensing page.
Licensing is only required when you purchase software licenses.
The Licensing page provides you with an overview of the activated licenses.
Activate a license:
To activate software you need to have an activation ID which was send by email after purchasing the software license. Activation requires a USB memory stick and any PC connected to the internet.
Note 1: License activation is not supported for tablets.
Note 2: While the same licenses are used by Dicentis Wired, the process to activate them on the Dicentis Wireless system are different, so please follow the below steps to activate the licenses on Dicentis Wireless.
Insert the USB memory stick into the PC connected to the Wireless Access Point (DCNM‑WAP).
Click the Add license button.
Enter all required Customer information and Activation ID, click the Add license button and then the Activate button.
Note: You can add more than one Activation ID. When all activation IDs are added, click the Activate button.
A “save as“ dialog is shown. Save the “request file“ to your USB memory stick.
Go to the website https://licensing.boschsecurity.com using a PC/Laptop which is connected to the internet, and login. If you do not have a username, contact your local Bosch representative to acquire an account.
Go to “manage license” and upload the “request file” from the USB memory stick.
Save the “response file“ to your USB memory stick.
In the DICENTIS web browser interface application, click the Process response message button. Select the correct response file from the USB memory stick, and then click “Open”.
Now the license is activated.
New functionality is added and can be used by the system.

Or by making use of ID cards. Note: For creating ID cards, the DCN-IDENC hardware and DCN-ID software is required.
DCN-SWID - ID Card Encoding
ID Card Encoding when the user is required to create ID cards.
To create ID cards, the DCN-IDENC hardware is required in combination with the DCN-ID software license.
Creating ID cards will only work when the computer you are working on is connected to the CCU!

XML streams for easy processing
Extensive filtering possibilities
Demonstrator including C# source code available
Software developer manual available
DCN-SWIND - Individual Channels
The Individual Channels software is used to route individual delegate microphone audio signals to the DCN system audio channels. These individual audio channels can only be received by Audio Expanders or Cobra net Interfaces.
Easy routing of individual audio channels
Up to 26 Individual Channels could be defined
This module can only be used with Wired DCN systems from software version 2.70 >.
DCN-SWIND can be used for standalone (system without PC) and for systems using DCN-SW.
Individual channels which have been pre-set in the CCU are not available when using LBB4190/00 range PC software.
DCN-SWSI - Simultaneous Interpretation
With the Simultaneous interpretation module it is possible to set-up, control and monitor the translation part of the conference system.
DCN-SWMD Usher call and speak slowly
With the MD.. The request for help from the Interpreter or the request to speak slowly.
LBB4187 Open Interface
Can be used to create user interfaces for DCN-NG
Symptoms: When a meeting is recorded and the recording software (either Meeting Recorder or Open Interface connection) is shut down, the microphone control mode switches to "Open", independent of what it was before.
DCN-NG is set-up in a multi-PC environment, all required licenses are installed. When trying to connect to the server from the secondary PC, the Operator Application takes a long time to start and once it does, the screen is simply blank and the server icon mouse-over shows the application is disconnected. When pinging the server from the secondary PC, the ping goes through without issues.
The RESTful API of the CCS1000D is used in order to get a clear view of the state of the discussion devices’ microphones (amongst other things). However, when a Priority call is made, the other speakers still show as active even though they are muted in reality.
This is actually as it' supposed to work. The reason the speakers still show as active is because they remain in the speaker list while the priority call comes through (in this case, the chairperson making an announcement overruling all other parties) is that in the system there’s a difference between speakers being muted and speakers being removed from the speaker list.
In this case, after the priority call ends, the speakers are unmuted and can resume the discussion.
It’s also possible to configure the system to stop all speakers and remove all waiting participants from the request list. If the system is setup in this way and the chairperson starts speaking, the system will indeed erase all other speakers and waiting speakers.
The API can be used to create a custom interface. This means that logic can be added so the preferred outcome is created. In this case it means that the custom interface needs to poll for the speakers list but also needs to take in account that when a priority call comes through (also pollable) this means the others are muted. Using these two givens can then be used to for example change the icons of the speakers to a ‘muted’ state in the custom interface.
In order to change the layout, the StyleSheet needs to be changed. Default it is located in C:\ProgramData\Bosch\DICENTIS\VotingResult.xslt, this file can be opened in any text editor, Notepad++ is recommended as it is very versatile.
