When trying to open the API demonstrator it will not open the demonstrator.
In version 3.11 it works but in 3.20 it will not.
Run the DCNM setup again and make sure that the option ‘(Default) Bosch DICENTIS API’ is also enabled.
Complete the installation and restart the PC.
Connection between DCN server and operator client will disconnect. This is occuring when using windows 10 PC's with SSD-disks.
After restart of the DCN services it will work for a while.
Also windows 10 has the 'fast startup' option enabled. This option will store settings and running services to have a fast startup. Because of this our services will start to fast and are not properly connected to the other services.
And the use of SSD-disk in the server PC can cause a start up that is to fast for the services.
In windows 10 there is the option enabled to store some services when the system has been shut down and start up again. This can cause problems with our services:
1: disable fast start-up option in the win 10 PC:
go to the control panel of windows
then go to 'power options'
then click on 'choose what the power buttons do'
then click on 'Change settings that are currently unavailable'
then disable 'Turn on fast startup'
Also the use of an SSD disk in the server PC can cause some startup problems with our DCN-NG software. You can fix this by doing the following:
go to the services
right-click on 'DCN-SW Server'
click on 'Properties'
Change startup type to 'Automatic (Delayed start)'
Now restart the PC and test with these settings.
Especially when using large databases it is advisable to make a backup occasionally in case something goes wrong. The manual describes ways to backup, restore and update the database quickly. This document describes how to use these options and when and also an alternative way for older versions.
When upgrading from a previous DICENTIS version that supports DANTE (V2.20 – V3.00) to the latest version 3.10, the following problem will occur; The DICENTIS system is not visible anymore in the Audinate’s DANTE controller software, where it was visible before the upgrade.
In order to add authorizations to an existing license, the current license key is required as well as the new authorization numbers.
How to find this key is detailed in another article:
How to find the license key loaded in a DCN-CCU2
Follow the next steps for adding the new authorizations:
Go to https://license.boschsecurity.com
Fill in the CCU's Serial Number and CHK:
Enter the current license key (this is found on the license key document received after activating the previous authorization numbers).
In the following windows the license information is shown and it's possible to add additional authorization numbers.
If multiple authorization numbers need to be added, choose "Next Authorization"
If all authorization numbers are added, choose "Finish register"
Next window will give the opportunity to register a spare CCU if applicable.
A last verification is done in the next window, if things need to be changed, the process goes back to step 4.
The license key with all information is shown on the next page. Note that the Print button doesn't work in all browsers, for this refer to "Printing the License Key document to PDF"
Upload the license key into your CCU or NCO. The Bosch ‘download and license tool’ is to be used to upload your license into a CCU2.
If accidentally a wrong country code is chosen during setup, there is no other way to change it in except for re-doing the setup, which in effect erases all prior changes made to the configuration. This article describes a way to set the country code without having to re-run the setup completely.
Click the Licensing button to open the Licensing page.
Licensing is only required when you purchase software licenses.
The Licensing page provides you with an overview of the activated licenses.
Activate a license:
To activate software you need to have an activation ID which was send by email after purchasing the software license. Activation requires a USB memory stick and any PC connected to the internet.
Note 1: License activation is not supported for tablets.
Note 2: While the same licenses are used by Dicentis Wired, the process to activate them on the Dicentis Wireless system are different, so please follow the below steps to activate the licenses on Dicentis Wireless.
Insert the USB memory stick into the PC connected to the Wireless Access Point (DCNM‑WAP).
Click the Add license button.
Enter all required Customer information and Activation ID, click the Add license button and then the Activate button.
Note: You can add more than one Activation ID. When all activation IDs are added, click the Activate button.
A “save as“ dialog is shown. Save the “request file“ to your USB memory stick.
Go to the website https://licensing.boschsecurity.com using a PC/Laptop which is connected to the internet, and login. If you do not have a username, contact your local Bosch representative to acquire an account.
Go to “manage license” and upload the “request file” from the USB memory stick.
Save the “response file“ to your USB memory stick.
In the DICENTIS web browser interface application, click the Process response message button. Select the correct response file from the USB memory stick, and then click “Open”.
Now the license is activated.

Can a CCU be used in the same DCN-NG system as a CCU2 or CCUB2?
No, this is not possible. Mixing CCUs and CCU2/CCUB2s in a DCN-NG system is not supported.
It’s also not possible to use a CCU as a spare unit in case of failure of a CCU2/CCUB2 in a DCN-NG system.
I have a custom DB9 cable that uses pins 2,3 & 5. Can I use this for serial communication from the PC to the (W)CCU?
No. You will need a full 9-pin null cable, since the (W)CCU communication on multiple pins.
Details on the RS232 connector can be found in theInstallation and User Instructions manual for version 3.1x found on the DCN-NG software ISO.
