Issue
Can the data circuit (SLC on the D10024 or D8024, MUX bus on the D7024 or D8125Mux, D8125 data on the 7000-9000 series) be run in the same conduit as 24 volts DC running horns and strobes in a four to five hundred foot run? Would adding sync modules to the horn circuit have an effect on the data circuit if run in the same conduit?
Solution
A wire run that produces noise (12 or 24 volts DC) should never be run in the same conduit as a communications or SLC bus. The noise will couple over into the other wiring. As a rule of thumb, low voltage DC should always be run in a separate conduit.
The same rule also applies to Sync modules, having two different protocols running in the same conduit will produce cross talk.
