How to configure IVA rules for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Event in Genetec Security Center?

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - safety equipment, such as vests and hard hats powered by Bosch IVA Pro PPE 

Step-by-step guide

1. Configure IVA Rules

The analytic rules must be configured using either the Bosch Ease of Configuration plugin (refer to video below) or the Bosch Configuration Manager.

2. Rules are received in Genetec SC based on

• Rule Type: Specifies the type of rule (e.g., line crossing, object detected in field). This corresponds directly to the rule name configured in the Bosch Rule Engine.
• Rule Description/Name: A brief description of the rule as defined during configuration.

3. Personal Protective Equipment PPE Event

1. Select Camera: Choose the desired camera from the available options.
2. Select Actions: Specify the actions you want to trigger upon detection.
3. Select Trigger Condition: Choose "Object detected in field" as the condition.
4. Specify Additional Conditions: Click on "Specify a condition" to refine the detection criteria.

5     Enter Rule name:  Enter the name of the event as configured in the Bosch Rule Engine. If the name was not customized during setup, the default name will be "PPE Monitoring."

Note: If rules based on helmet detection or vest detection need to be handled or counted independently, two separate rules with distinct names must be created.
