Pressing 5 to change passcodes is available to Owners and Users. How can Users be prevented from changing passcodes? The ability to change Passcodes on 2000 Series panels is managed in programming under Passcodes in the Change Passcode parameter. The following selections are available: Disabled- Prevents any user from changing the user's passcode from the keypad. Owner- Allows only owner type passcodes to change passcodes from the keypad Owner and User- Allows both owner and user type passcodes to change passcodes from the keypad. Change the Change Passcode parameter in programming to either Disabled or Owner to disallow users from changing passcodes from the keypad. In a system with multiple areas assigned to one keypad, and there is a need to either arm or disarm all areas independantly, the disarm command must be added to the function list. When attempting to disarm an area from a keypad that is assigned to an associated area, the area rearms when using a passcode. How should I disarm the area? In the function list, assign a 1 (Disarm) to menu item #1 and turn this feature on for the appropriate CC address. When disarming an area from a keypad that is assigned to an associated area, press the Escape key and press Enter at Disarm. Enter a valid passcode that has authority over the area to be disarmed. The keypad shows the area to be disarmed. If this is the correct area, press Enter. If not, press the Next key until the desired area is shown. The backup option is located within the RPS software under File > Backup. Backing up RPS by copying folders manually or by creating a backup directly from SQL is not recommended. A backup should be created from the RPS software using the function listed above. With RPS Version 5.7 and later, the backup file is exported as a single file with an XML file extension. Version 5.2 to 5.5 backed up RPS to two files: an XML file and a DAT file. Note: It is recommended when restoring a backup file(s) that the backup is only restored to the same version of RPS software used to create the backup (for example, an RPS v5.5 backup is not recommended to be restored into RPS v5.9).
