XProtect offers 3 different modes of metadata streaming. What are the differences there?
- Bosch binary: The metadata is transmitted as VCD data, which is a binary representation of the metadata that is generated on the camera. This format is most efficient in terms of bitrate and needed for the Bosch plugins ('Enhanced Metadata plugin' and 'Forensic Search plugin') in XProtect.
- ONVIF: The metadata is transmitted in XML format as defined by Onvif. This format consumes more bitrate than the VCD format and it's needed for the Milestone's Centralized Metadata Search.
- ONVIF Extended: This format is a combination of the two others and needed to cater for the 2 use cases described above.
