When pSwinger Bypass is set to YES, the control panel automatically bypasses a point that erroneously reports a pre-determined number of alarm or trouble events within an hour.
The ‘pre-determined’ number of alarm or trouble events is called the Swinger Bypass Count. Older version panel types have a hard coded Swinger Bypass Count of 4, newer versions can select the Swinger Bypass Count between 1-4.
All 7000/9000, G series panels and GV2 panels using firmware version 7.03 and below use a fixed Swinger Bypass Count setting of 4 and cannot be modified the panel program.
All GV2 panel types using firmware version 7.05 and higher, GV3, GV4, B-panels and the B8512G/B9512G have a swinger bypass count setting which can be selected between 1-4.
The panel will report a SWINGER BYPASS P### upon meeting the swinger count. If the point has a partial count (less than the maximum number during an hour), the count is reset to zero
Points do not need to be programmed as Bypassable YES for swinger bypass to work. A swinger shunted point will return to the system if P## BP Returnable? is YES. If not, return the point to the system by performing the normal procedure to unbypass a point. Press CMD 00 and enter the point number or press Next to access the next bypassed point, then press Enter to unbypass the point.
