Issue How can the calendar be adjusted on the D8112? Solution Perform the following steps: Your security system has an internal calendar which it uses to schedule automatic test reports and other functions. This calendar can be programmed to run a weekly or monthly time schedule. If programmed for a weekly schedule, the display shows the day of the week followed by the number of the day (for example, MON 2). If programmed for a monthly schedule, the display shows the month, followed by the day of the month (for example, MAR 20). To use COMMAND 46: 1. Ensure that the security system is disarmed. 2. Press the COMMAND bar. The display should show SYSTEM COMMAND. 3. Press and release the 4 key, then press and release the6 key. The display should show SET DATE=(date disply). To set a new date display, simply enter the desired date with the number keys on the Alpha II keypad. See the directions on right for month mode or day of the week mode display adjustments.< /FONT> 4. When the display is correct, press the COMMAND bar to exit from this mode. If the COMMAND bar is not pressed, the new date will not be entered and the Alpha II will revert back to the original date displayed. If no keys are pressed for 20 seconds, the Alpha II automatically exits from this mode. Day of Month Schedule: EXAMPLE: To set a date of May 17, you would enter the following: Press the 0 + 5 keys ("05" is the code for May, the fifth month of the year), then press the 1 + 7 keys. The display shows SET DATE= MAY 17. Numerical entries to set month display 01 JAN 04 APR 07 JUL 10 OCT 02 FEB 05 MAY 08 AUG 11 NOV 03 MAR 06 JUN 09 SEP 12 DEC Day of Week Schedule: EXAMPLE: To set the day of week display for Friday, you would enter the following. Issue When uploading a program with a D5200 from a D8112 I get a message on the D5200 of AUX HAS BAD DATA. Solution This can be caused by one of two things: There is corruption in the AUX part of the program caused by uploading or downloading the control panel using a D5200 and not removing the keypad data wires off of terminals 30 and 31. This can be corrected by first removing the keypad data wires off of terminals 30 and 31 then receiving a copy of the program again if the D5200 still displays AUX HAS BAD DATA in the program go to AUX->ABCD and there will be strange characters in those prompts. Simply clear them out and send the program back to the panel then receive it again the error message should now be gone. The last time the panel was programmed it was programmed with a D5100 programmer. There are prompts in the control panel that can only be seen or programmed by the D5100. The prompts were masked off in the D5200 in order to reduce the amount of errors in programming. This error message would indicate that one of the prompts were set incorrectly when programmed with the D5100. This can be corrected by sending the program back to the control panel the receiving it again this will automatically change those prompts to the correct settings by the D5200 and the error message should no longer be displayed on the D5200. Procedure for sending or receiving the panel program: Connect the D5200 program cable between the D5200 Communicator port and the RJ-11 connector in the upper right corner of the D8112. Select the 8112 handler in the D5200 and press ENTER GROUP. Place the cursor on the correct 8112 version: D8112E, D8112E1, D8112G, D8112G1, D8112G2 or D8112A. Momentarily short Disable Restart (terminal 32) to Common (terminal 29). While the cursor is blinking beside the correct panel version, press RECV(COPY) to receive programming or SEND(LOAD) to send programming to the panel.  If the D5200 programmer has difficulty sending or receiving programming: Try removing serial data connections from the panel. Remove devices from terminals 29-32 by either removing wires from terminals, or remove the terminal strip from the right side of the control panel. Place a momentary short between Disable Restart (terminal 32) and Common (terminal 29). If the terminal strip has been removed, carefully place a jumper wire across the holes where terminal 29 and 32 would be.  If still receiving errors during attempts to copy the D8112: Check the D5200 programmer for adequate free memory and verify the 8112 handler is not corrupted. Turn on the D5200 and enter passcode Press the up arrow until DISK STAT displays and press ENTER GROUP. The following screen will appear: DISKSTAT Current Disk: A SizeKilobytes: 512 FreeKilobytes: XXX The number by “FreeKilobytes” should be 60K or greater to effectively operate the D5200.  Less than 60K could result in erratic operation of the programmer and possible corruption of panel programming. Check for corrupted handler:       Place the cursor on the panel type (8112E, 8112E1, 8112G, 8112G1, 8112G2 or 8112A) and press ENTER GROUP. Continue pressing ENTER GROUP on several levels of the program. If the message "BAD DATABASE FILE" appears, the 8112 handler is corrupted. Delete the 8112 handler immediately and use the update feature to obtain a new copy.

Overview: Setting program entry 104 OnBat toYes, enables the alpha display "On Batry" and turns on buzzer when battery is draining faster that it is charging, i.e.: power load on D8112 is more than AC can supply alone.  If this item is programmed YES, the Alpha Command Center will buzz during test reports.   Issue   Every time the D8112 sends a test report, the keypad buzzes until CMD 4 is entered. Solution If program item 104 OnBat (found under Special Alpha Cmd in D8112 Main handler) is set to YES, the Alpha Command Center will buzz during test reports. Issue Arming 8112 without delays.   Solution   COMMAND 2 is used to arm only the perimeter of your building, leaving the interior of the building disarmed. This command allows no exit or entry delay time through the perimeter, including the designated delay door. Although this command does not send a "Closing Report" to the Central Station, it will still send alarms. Enter your personal passcode to cancel COMMAND 2. This arming command is useful in residential systems at night when everyone is home and ready to retire for the evening. In commercial installations, this arming command is useful when you are working late and you want the perimeter of the building armed until you are ready to leave. To use COMMAND 2: 1. Ensure all perimeter zones are secure. (Interior zones are not armed with this command and may remain faulted while arming with COMMAND 2. All faulted zones will be shown in the display.) 2. Press the COMMAND bar. The display should show SYSTEM COMMAND. 3. Press the 2 key. The display now shows PERIMETR INSTANT. 4. To disarm your security system, enter your personal passcode.

Issue D8112 Duress Passcode. Solution Duress Passcode A duress Passcode is used to send a silent alarm signal to the Central Station simply by increasing the last digit of the Passcode by one. For example, if the standard Passcode is 12345, the duress Passcode is 12346. The duress Passcode arms or disarms the security system just like your personal Passcode; however, as the system is armed or disarmed an alarm signal is transmitted to the Central Station. Application The duress Passcode is used when someone threatens you and demands you to disarm your security system. By disarming (or arming) with a duress Passcode, the Central Station is alerted of an alarm situation.
