How can I tell if the D168 will work with my control?
There are 3 items that are important when determining if it will be fully compatible with the control that is in question.
1. The control must provide a 12 volt dc aux power source to the D168A.
2. The control must have the ability to program a point as a keyswitch point. This only applies if you want to arm/disarm through the phone. Otherwise, you will just get arm/disarmed status. The keyswitch point can be programmed as momentary or maintained.
3. The control must have the ability to program a trigger that will trip and stay tripped when the system is armed.
How is a code changed on the 251 arming station when used with a 3012 control/communicator?
Place J10 in lower enable position , then press blank key once, then enter old code once, new 4 digit code twice. Test new code by arming and disarming.
Testing the DX4010i and D9133DC operation and communication using HyperTerminal.
HyperTerminal can be used to verify that the DX4010i is communicating over the serial port to another serial device. This is a good test to perform if running into problems connecting a control panel to PC9000, Readykey Pro or Crestron using the DX4010i. This process has been broken up into four steps; panel setup, device configuration, pc serial port configuration, and HyperTerminal Setup.
Note: You must use a Null Modem Serial Cable when connecting the DX4010i to serial devices; Computer, PC9000, ReadyKey Pro, and Crestron.
Panel setup: Receive a copy of RADXAUX1 with the D5200 or RPS/RAMIV. Move to the SDI Automation section of RADXAUX1. Set Enable SDI Automation to Yes. Under SDI Automation also set Status Rate to 20.
Device Configuration: Disconnect the DX4010i from the SDI bus. Lock the Reset Pin down. Set the DX4010i to Address 80 by setting address switches 1-4 to on and 5-8 to off. Connect the DX4010i to SDI bus. Remove the cover from DX4010i. Place the jumper over the P2 pins labelled LED Enable. Lift and unlatch the Reset Pin on the panel. Wait 1 minute for the DX4010i to initialize. Once the DX4010i has initialized you will see activity on the BUS LED’s.
PC Serial Port Configuration: Open device manager. Windows XP/2000 users go to Start, choose Settings then Control Panel. Double click on the System icon. On the System Properties window select the Hardware tab at the top. Press the Device Manager button. Find Ports and select the + symbol to the left to expand the ports section. Double click on com 1. The com 1 properties page will open. Select the port settings tab at the top. Verify the port settings. Bits per second should be set to 9600, Data Bits to 8, Parity to None, Stop Bits to 1, and Flow Control to None. Press OK and close the device manager.
HyperTerminal Setup: Press the Start button, select Programs, choose Accessories, choose Communications and then select HyperTerminal. HyperTerminal will open, give the session a name and press OK. On the "Connect to" screen select the drop down box for Connect Using. Select Com 1 from the list. You will now see the port settings window for HyperTerminal. Set Bits per Second to 9600, Data Bits to 8, Parity to None, Stop Bits to 1, and Flow Control to None. Click Apply then press OK.
If you have followed these instructions should now see data populating the screen from the panel.
How is point expansion configured, addressed and wired on the D6112 panel?
1.) Install the First Device to the D6112 control by connecting one of the two White leads to terminal 11 (Data- first device). The Black lead will land on terminal 14 (common) and the Red on terminal 15 (+ 12Vdc). This device will be programmed as DEVICE 1.
2.) Install the Second Device to the D6112 control by connecting one of its White leads to the remaining White lead from Device 1. The Black and Red leads of the second device will connect to Common and +12Vdc respectively. This device will be programmed as DEVICE 2.
3.) Each additional device will be installed by connecting its White wire to the previous device remaining white wire until the last device. The remaining White wire on the last device will connect to the D6112 control terminal 13 (Data- last device).
1.) Go to the Devices Module part of the D6112 handler and on line 4.1 Device#, select 1 for the first device.
a) On line 2 D1 Model, select the device model code (1=D610/611, 2=D620/D626, 3=D630/D636A, 4=D640) that pertains to the first device.
2.) Continue by selecting 2 on line 4.1 Device# for the second device and on line 4.2 D1 Model, enter that device model code. Continue until all devices are programmed.
3.) Address the points according to the device they are expanded off of. The zone location is comprised of the Device model code and the zone. The zones are identified by letter starting with A for the first zone and counting up alphabetically.
a) Onboard zones 1-8 use a device code of 0 and are addressed as 0A-0H.
b) Zones 9 and up would be addressed 1A, 1B and so on.
Note: It is not required that zones 1-16 be located on any particular device or in any particular order. It is advisable that the system be laid out in a logical order for future reference.
The D192G panel zone (point) is in trouble and the yellow LED is not on.
With the zone/point in trouble and No Yellow LED On there is a wiring fault. One of the following terminals do not have power connected to them.

The D279 or D279A will not recover the default passcode while following the instructions.
You are performing this procedure while one of the D279A zones is not in a normal condition. Normalize D279A zones and the default procedure will work.
Can the D125B be Used to Power 2 Wire Smokes on the D7112?
Yes, see technogram number (73-06116-000-C) 1993 (attached). Listings and Approvals Underwriters Laboratories lists the D7112 ControVCommunicator as a Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter (DACT) for: NFPA 71 Central Station, NFPA 72 Chapter 6 Local, NFPA 72 Chapter 8 Remote Station, NFPA 74 Household Fire Warning. The D7112 also has the following Approvals: CSFM and NYC-MEA (formerly NYC-BSA).
Can I mix Heat Detectors and 2 wire smokes with a sounder when using a D132A Smoke Detector Polarity Reversing Module?
No. When a Heat detector goes into alarm it puts a short on the input zone to indicate the alarm. The D132A uses Aux power from the panel when the polarity reversal takes place and since a heat detector does not reset when polarity is reversed, it would put a direct short on the Aux power of the panel. Consequently everything connected to the same Aux power terminals would not function.
The Bosch Security Systems D221 Answering Machine Disconnect Module allows you to remotely disconnect an answering machine that shares a phone line with a Bosch Security Systems control panel. When the answering machine disconnects the phone line is available to the control/communicator for remote programming (RPS) functions. A Touch-tone® telephone at the RAM site is required to perform the disconnect procedure. The D221 can be installed with an existing modular telephone jack or be a replacement for an RJ-11 jack.
What activates the module to disconnect the answering machine?
From a touch tone phone call the phone line, let the answering machine answer the line. The # key or the 8 key will activate the module.
1) module white jumper cut = # key
2) module black jumper cut = 8 key
**Note: The RAM session is not affected when the D221 restores the phone line to the answering machine. Some answering machines record tones generated during the RAM session. If the D221 Module is used with an integrated telephone/ answering machine device, pressing the activation key ([#] or ) during normal use may activate the D221 and disconnect the device for 3 to 5 minutes.
