    Issue Trouble connecting to the D4412 with RPS / RAM IV using the DX4010i. What dip switches need to be set to make the DX4010i connect to the panel? What type of cable is needed between the DX4010i and the Laptop or PC? Solution RAMIV / RPS needs to be revision 3.6 or higher. Set the address 0 (Installer's mode) Dip Switches 6 and 8 in the off postion on the DX4010i. Use a NULL cable to connect the DX4010i to the Laptop or PC. For remote programming connection, use the RJ-16 to molex connector to the Aux / Data header. Lock the Installer or Reset Pin on the panel. In the RSP/ RAMIV Connection screen change the connection type from MODEM to ENHANCED DIRECT, then click connect. *If connected to a D4412 panel and the address is set wrong on the DX4010i then a message of "INVALID RAM PASSCODE" may be generated.

      Issue Symptom The keypad displays Oct. Relay Fault. Probable Cause The octal relay module ( DS7488 ) is defective or the wiring to the module is defective. There is not a DS7488 or a DS7488 has been removed from the system. Solution Check the wiring to the module. Enter the programming mode. This will rescan the options bus and clear the problem.     Issue How is the DS7432 eight input remote module interfaced with DS7400 series panels? Solution The DS7432 eight input remote module is interfaced with DS7400 series panels thru either the DS7430 (single mux bus) or DS7436 (dual mux bus) Multiplex Expansion Module. Connect the mux bus + terminal to the DS7432 module bus + and the respective mux bus - terminal to the DS7432 module bus - terminal.     Issue Does the panel need to see a perimeter point faulted during the exit delay when arming All On to actually fully arm the system and not just Part Arm?   Solution   When the ARMING OPTIONS prompt Enable 'All On - No Exit ' feature is set to yes , the panel must see a perimeter point faulted during the exit delay in order to fully arm . If the panel does not see that , the panel will switch to PART ON to prevent a false alarm.

    Issue Multiplex troubles and loss of communication to devices.   Solution   Perform the Following Troubleshooting steps 1. Check the voltage on the Mutilplex Bus 2. If the Voltage is 12VDC 3. Check and make sure the panel is out of programmer’s mode 4. Look for duplicate addresses 5. *Disable Bus lock 6. Make sure 12VDC is not connect to the Multiplex bus If the Voltage is 0 - . 3VDC 1. Check for Shorts on the multiplex loop 2. Check for reverse polarity to devices 3. If the device require diodes make sure the cathode side is on the positive side. * To Disable Bus Lock 1.     Issue This is a report that is generated when the system is armed and Closing Ring Back is enabled but the closing report is not. The Report 0 occurs because the panel does a phone check to see if dial-tone  is detected. If dial tone is not detected at the time the panel is armed it will display a Communication Fault on the Keypad it will generate this error in the History buffer. How are Report Fail 0 messages prevented? Solution To prevent these errors from occurring perform the following steps: On the DS7400/X version 1.xx 1. Enter in program mode by entering in the program PIN + #0 2. Depress 0011 03# 3. Hold the * key for 3 seconds to exit out of Program mode  On the DS7400Xi  Version 2.xx and Ver 3+ 1. Enter in program mode by entering in the program PIN + #0 2. Press 0000 03# 3. Hold the * key for 3 seconds to exit out of Program mode On the DS7400Xi Ver 4 1.     Issue 1.) The D7112 receives a busy signal for all ten attempts to reach the receiver. Diagnosis Calls are not reaching the receiver The receiver call load could be too great. Issue 2. )What would cause the receiver to answer the call and provide an acknowledgment tone, but the communicator does not transmit reports? Diagnosis The receiver is not producing the correct acknowledgement tones. The D136 relay in J10 for ground start phone systems is inserted incorrectly. Solution Verify that the correct prefixes and phone numbers for the receiver have been programmed into the D7112. Verify that the phone lines are not shorted between the phone company's equipment and the receiver by placing a call to the number for the receiver. If you hear the line ring, but the ring detector doesn't light, or if you hear a busy signal and the green "on the line" (OL) indicator is not lit, call the phone company for service. Verify that the receiver is producing a 2300 Hz or Modem II acknowledgment tone. Verify the D136 relay is in the socket J10 correctly.
