    Issue The panel is not displaying READY TO ARM any more, it now only displays READY , why is that now changed?   Solution   Under the MAIN part of the program go into Modem & Exram and make 123 16ChDisp YES.     Issue The panel is waiting 30 seconds or so to dial out to central station after an instant alarm.   Solution   In the point index configuration , under GLOBAL POINT CONFIGURATION, check the Alarm Event Abort Window time which is used for alarm cancellation time. This is the time the panel will wait to transmit an alarm condition to central station unless it is cancelled before the time has expired.This feature is a SIA requirement used to prevent false alarms being reported by user error.

    Issue How can the you Manually Transmit System Status Report? Solution Transmit System Status Report COMMAND 42 allows you to send a report to the CentralStation indicating the current condition of your security system. This report is capable of telling the Central Station if your systemor supervised sub-zone controls, are armed or disarmed, reportsthe condition of primary (AC) power and secondary (battery) powerand indicates the condition of the protective zones (whether azone is normal, in alarm, or in trouble). Always call the Central Station before beginning a StatusReport. If the system is working properly, the Central Stationsends a confirming signal which is shown in the display panelof the Alpha II Command Center. To use COMMAND 42: Ensure that your security system is disarmed. Press the COMMAND bar. The display should show SYSTEM COMMAND Press and release the 4 key. Now press and release the2 key. The display shows TEST= (time display)then holds on STATUS . The display changes to STATUS + whenthe signal is acknowledged by the Central Station. Press theCOMMAND bar or any number key to clear the displayafter test. If SERVICE COM FAIL is displayed at the CommandCenter, or if the acknowledgement signal is not received atthe Central Station, enter your personal passcode to cancelthe test.     Issue Command 4 function on the 8112. Solution Reset Trouble Sounder Reset Alarm Memory Display Display Clock COMMAND 4 performs several functions for your securitysystem. Use this command to silence your Alpha II steady troubletone during system trouble events or clear the alarm memory displayof the Alpha II Command Center. Your security system may be programmed with an internalclock. To display the clock momentarily at the Alpha II CommandCenter, enter COMMAND 4. The display will showTEST= (time display) . If the display showsTEST= without the time display, then yoursystem is not programmed for clock displays. All other functionsof COMMAND 4 are still available. To use COMMAND 4: Ensure that your security system is disarmed. Press the COMMAND bar. The display should show SYSTEM COMMAND Press the 4 key. The display should showTEST= (time display) momentarily. If the displayshows TEST= , with no time display,your system is not programmed to indicate time of day.However, resetting the trouble sounder and clearing the alarmmemory display still remain functional.     Issue Arming 8112 without delays.   Solution   COMMAND 2 is used to arm only the perimeter of your building, leaving the interior of the building disarmed. This command allows no exit or entry delay time through the perimeter, including the designated delay door. Although this command does not send a "Closing Report" to the Central Station, it will still send alarms. Enter your personal passcode to cancel COMMAND 2. This arming command is useful in residential systems at night when everyone is home and ready to retire for the evening. In commercial installations, this arming command is useful when you are working late and you want the perimeter of the building armed until you are ready to leave. To use COMMAND 2: 1. Ensure all perimeter zones are secure. (Interior zones are not armed with this command and may remain faulted while arming with COMMAND 2. All faulted zones will be shown in the display.) 2. Press the COMMAND bar. The display should show SYSTEM COMMAND. 3. Press the 2 key. The display now shows PERIMETR INSTANT. 4. To disarm your security system, enter your personal passcode.

    Issue Silencing the Alarm on an 8112.   Solution   The audible alarm has a specific period of time it sounds before automatically shutting off. If an alarm occurs and you want to silence it before the time expires, simply enter your personal passcode and the alarm will stop. To silence your Alpha II during a service alert, press COMMAND 4 to reset the alarm. To silence your security system: • Enter your personal passcode for audible alarms. or • Enter COMMAND 4 for service alerts. NOTE: Some installations are programmed so that the alarms cannot be silenced until the zone is restored to normal (non-alarmcondition.     Issue Arming an 8112 with delays.   Solution   COMMAND 1 is used to arm the entire system, bothperimeter and interior zones. Once you have entered COMMAND1, the exit delay time starts. You now have a predeterminedamount of time to exit the protected area before the system arms. During the exit period you may move through motion detectorsor any protected area on your way to the exit door without causingan alarm. Enter your personal passcode to cancel COMMAND1. NOTE: If you leave the building after the exit time expires,you may begin the entry delay, or initiate an alarm. If this happens,disarm your system by entering your personal passcode. If yoursystem reports to a Central Station, you may need to call themif an alarm occurs. COMMAND 1 is useful in applications where you want yourcleaning service, a serviceman or anyone to arm your system whenthey leave, but you don't want them to have the passcode to disarmthe system. COMMAND 1 arms the system, but it will not disarmthe system. To use COMMAND 1: 1. Ensure that all zones are secure. The display should showREADY TO ARM . 2. Press the COMMAND bar. The display should show SYSTEM COMMAND . 3. Press the 1 key. The display now alternates between ALL SECURE and EXIT NOW. After the exit delay expires, the display shortens to ALL SECURE . 4.
