Question   How are the recordings displayed in Op Client when using ANR with 'alarm only' recording set?   Project set-up: Bosch Camera ANR feature enabled on DIP 5000 AIO running BVMS 11.0 camera records motion on the iSCSI SD card is configured to alarm recording   Answer   When using ANR function in combination with 'alarm only' recording , recording 1 is with only the motion recorded. When going to the ANR recordings these are continuous and does not have recorded only the motion. This is normal and as designed, because when using ANR mode, the settings for the Secondary Recorder are ignored, ANR SD Card recording will always be continuous. These are the preconditions for local storage playback to work: Secure Connection is disabled on the camera. With that the UDP encryption in the camera is also turned off. Video should not be stored encrypted If there is a User level password on the camera the same needs to be configured as global CHAP password in BVMS. The background is that with setting that password on the camera, a CHAP password is also set on the SD card.  Hence, the Access protection enforcement does not need to be disabled when the passwords are set correctly. Removing passwords and disabling the password enforcement on the cameras or in BVMS is not a best practice.   Step-by-step guide   1. You can set the same password for "service" and "user" from Configuration Manager by accessing the camera > General > User Management > click on the settings wheel icon for both users: "service" and "user"   2. Set the same password for both users: "service" and "user"   3. Save these changes   4. Be sure that the "Access protection enforcement" and "Password policy enforcement" are enabled. Go to Service > Compatibility > Tick the boxes if they have not already been ticked   5. Open Configuration Client > Add your camera in the Local Storage if it hasn't already been added > Go to Hardware > Change device passwords    6. Here you have to add the same password for both users "service" and "user", same password as you added before in Configuration Manager.   7. Now, go to Settings > Options and add the same password in the CHAP password field and click OK      Note: Be sure that the recording is activated on your camera → the red dot button has to blink → In Configuration Client select your camera > Recording > Recording Management:   8. Now, you have to disable the Secure Connection on your camera. Right click on your camera > select Edit Encoder   9. Uncheck the box next to the "Secure Connection" > click OK   10. Save & Activate your changes   11. Don't forget to add your camera in the Logical Tree from Maps and Structure. Question   Which is the recommended Secure Configuration Environment for FLEXIDOME IP starlight 7000 VR (CPP4)?   Answer   It is advised to use Bosch tools like the Configuration Manager to configure the camera, that does not allow for issues like XSS (Cross-site scripting - security vulnerability). When using the web-based configuration interface and currently being logged in as administrator, some security precautions can be taken to mitigate XSS vulnerabilities: - No other websites or email content should be opened as long as the session to the camera is active - No links should be clicked from an untrusted external source that link back to the camera. - Use a different browser than the system default browser to open a session to the camera as there is no XSS between browsers. - Always log out and/ or close the browser (not only the tab) to clear any session data   Note: The above recommendation is also applicable to all Bosch IP cameras that belong to CPP 4 platform. When a device scan from within Milestone XProtect is not exposing all Bosch cameras in the network.   Possible causes and solution(s)   Causes   Automatic discover works by providing a list of username/password pairs on the second step of adding a device to XProtect. Since FW 6.60, Bosch cameras are very restrictive in case of too many wrong login attempts and won't allow further connections. During the discovery process, the list of username/password combinations is used to try to log-in to the camera that is supposed to be added, which may cause the temporal 'lock-down' of the device.   Solution   To add Bosch devices, with FW 6.60 and above, using this feature the username/password list should contain only one entry for the device or group of devices, sharing a common username/password, that are going to be add in XProtect. DO NOT USE the “Factory Default” username and password. On the next step add the IPs/IP Ranges of the Bosch devices only and proceed with adding them to XProtect.   ... View more
