Question   How do I Properly Clean and Disinfect my Telex Headset?   Answer   This memo describes specific disinfectants and cleaning methods that are acceptable for use on RTS and Telex headset and microphone products.   Approved cleaning agents are listed below. Sani-Cide EX by Celeste Industries or minimum 70% isopropyl alcohol are preferred.   1. Sani-Cide EX3 produced by Celeste Industries 2. Matrix Disinfectant/Cleaner #3 produced by Jon-Don 3. NETBIOKEM DSAM produced by PSA 4. Isopropyl alcohol at least 70%.   Cleaning Procedure: Remove porous foam components such as ear cushions and foam microphone windscreen. Apply cleaning agent to a soft towel to clean the plastic and metal parts. Cleaner should wipe off or evaporate quickly. *Do not soak or allow the cleaner to puddle on the unit. *Do not allow any liquid to touch the speaker or microphone element directly as this may cause damage. Use only isopropyl alcohol (70% minimum) on porous foam parts including the mic windscreen and/or ear cushion. Once removed soak until absorbed completely. Squeeze out excess liquid and allow to air dry at room temperature before reattaching. Cleaning directions included in this letter are for external surfaces only. Internal surfaces should not require cleaning.

Question If C-Soft closes down during a NENA call, will the call be still be heard?   Answer NENA port audio will only work if C-Soft is first running. NENA audio will continue to route between Phone system and headset if C-Soft or PC is accidentally closed or shut down for whatever reason. Without C-Soft first being launched NENA will not work. Additional testing shows that if C-Soft was started but couldn't get a license (server operation failure), the user can select Demo Mode and have NENA audio route to headset.

Question Can I connect a secondary power source to the Dispatch console?   Answer The Dispatch consoles have an Auxiliary Power connector and a primary power supply connector on the rear of the unit. These connectors are internally connected but not designed to supply power to the unit at the same time (either one but not both at the same time). If both sources are required a switch must be implemented on the backup power source requiring a manual switch over from primary to the backup source if the primary power source fails. Power should not be supplied simultaneously to both connectors as hum and noise could be introduced. When primary power is restored, the switch should then be returned to the normal position.                 © Copyright Bosch Security Systems All rights reserved. Question How do I configure the IP-223 to operate in Console mode?   Answer Programming the IP-223 to operate in Console mode: For either 2 or 4 wire set J3, J9, J11, J16 and J21 (Line 1) or J19, J20, J25, J28 and J29 (Line 2) to "B" position. For 2-Wire; set J33 and J34 (Line 1) or J5 and J6 (Line 2) to "A" position, set J14 (Line 1) or J24 (Line 2) to "B" position. For 4-Wire set J33 and J34 (Line 1) or J5 and J6 (Line 2) to "B" position, set J14 (Line 1) or J24 (Line 2) to "A" position. Close unit   Now connect your 2 or 4-Wire control line to the correct IP-223 DB-25 I/O port. For 2-Wire connect the (TX/RX) wires to Pins 13 and 25 For 4-Wire connect the TX (Out to console) wires to Pins 13 and 25, connect the RX (In from console) wires to Pins 12 and 24. Once your jumpers and wire connections are set you will need to place the IP-223 line into Console mode. To do this, follow the steps below: Log into the web page of the IP-223. Click on the Multicast address setup picture at the top of the page. Use the Line Type drop down for line 1 or line 2 and set it to Console mode. Now Click on the Submit button at the bottom of the page. Click on the Per-Line setup picture at the top of the page. Go to individual Lines being configured for Console mode, scroll down to "Options" section. Check "Parallel Tone Console" checkbox. Now Click on the Submit button at the bottom of the page. Now click on the Save To EEPROM and click on Save Parameters. Now that line of the IP-223 is set to Console mode will decode PTT tones. The next steps you need to take is to set levels. To set levels do the following: Using a transmission test set or similar device, measure the audio on the front panel RX test point of the IP-223 to ground. Key up the attached tone console, with no voice (only 2175 tone present) Using a small screw driver, adjust the RX pot on the front of the IP-223 for the line under test.  Set the Low Level guard tone to the level you desire, typical is -20dbm into a loaded circuit (looking for 0 gain) Key up the tone console, measure the voice audio on the RX pins of the IP-223, typical is 0dbm peaks into a loaded circuit. You should see "CTX F1" displayed on the front of the IP-223 when you PTT from the tone console, TX packets are now being sent to the network.           © Copyright Bosch Security Systems All rights reserved. Question What can the NEO-10 do?   Answer The Telex NEO-10 is a versatile network I/O device that integrates perfectly with a C-Soft console as the control and monitoring device. The NEO-10 contains 10 C form DPST relays with all 6 contacts of the relays brought out to external connections on the unit (Normally Open, Normally Closed, and Common). There are also 10 diode blocked inputs, which can be used to monitor logic levels (0-18V) or external switch contact closures.  Input statuses can be displayed as buttons on the C-Soft console which change colors and text with state changes.   Input Annunciation - C-Soft can also be programmed to annunciate an input state change via an alert tone or .wav file playback, upon receipt of an input state change from any of the ten NEO-10 inputs. The NEO-10 sends out multicast packet bursts to the consoles, any time an input state changes, and of course packet bursts from the console control output relay closures.  Actual control of the NEO-10 is accomplished by a TCP/IP socket connection from the controlling console. Version 5.3 of C-Soft and above, supports control and monitoring functions for multiple NEO devices on the network.   Echo Packets - Later releases of software for the desktop VoIP capable consoles will support NEO-10 as well. In addition to the I/O functions of the device, the NEO-10 supports 10 channels of echo packet functionality. Echo Packet is a method of copying voice/data content on the network to and from multicast addresses. These features allow the Telex multicast scheme to operate on a network without having multicast enabled. Automatic Relay Control - Relays can be programmed to be automatically triggered by the receipt of an Emergency from a field unit, an incoming phone call, or a PTT on the console.  Typical Input Devices - Any switch closure can be used to trigger an Input Message to the console. Door lock and closure switches, alarm circuit outputs, temperature limit switches, remote monitoring of radio site equipment (low transmit power alarms, receive antenna preamp failure, high temperature alarms, power failures, etc.), Typical Output Applications - The NEO-10 can provide remote control of overhead doors, electric door locks, lighting, radio site equipment, generators, security system activation, etc. Often it is advantageous to use a NEO-10 input to verify an output function, such as a remote door lock, monitored by an input position switch, to confirm that the door has been returned to a closed and locked condition, etc. The relay contacts are rated 1.0 amps at 125 volts.             © Copyright Bosch Security Systems All rights reserved.
