Issue CMD40 System Trouble Report Codes Display -  COMMAND 40 Solution Keying COMMAND - 4 - 0 at the Command Center will replace the display of zone status on the four left indicator lights with a trouble report code.  If applicable, a second trouble report can be displayed by keying in another COMMAND 40 (the maximum number of troubles held in the buffer is two).  If no indicators light on the second COMMAND 40 entry, there is only one cause for each trouble report. After the panel is disabled/restarted, powered cycled, or serviced for the indicated system troubles, clear the system trouble memory by entering COMMAND 40 until no troubles are displayed.  Press any key to exit COMMAND 40 since it is not automatically exited upon alarm or trouble condition. Issue Installing a used CPU with unknown programming. Solution CPU can have the RAM cleared. Procedure: * This should be done with the CPU off the panel. With the CPU removed off the panel, remove the shroud; find CR2 and U8 on the circuit board. Place a 3 sec short across the banded end of CR2 and the center pin of U8. This will erase ALL Ram memory. Issue D7112 Panel battery will not hold a charge. Solution A slow flashing (1 sec on, 1 sec off) yellow LED with the green CPU LED off indicates a power supply overload condition.  The panel detects the battery as missing and the power supply cannot meet the power demand of the devices on the panel. The panel is shut down.

Issue When attempting to connect to a DS7080iP-32 or DS7400Xi Ver4+ panel in WDSRP 2, Direct Connect does not appear as an option when Communicate is pressed. Solution WDSRP has not been set up to use Direct Connect function. Go to Utilities and Preferences, check Direct Serial Connect and press OK. Go back to Communicate screen and Direct Connect will appear.

Issue How does the phone line monitor for the DS7100 operate?   Solution   If the monitor detects a phone line fault for more than 50 seconds, the power LED will begin to flash.  If the audible output has been enabled in line 89, the keypad sounder will pulse every ten seconds if the control is disarmed. If the panel is armed, the siren output will activate. To ascertain if the trouble condition is indeed a phone line failure, enter # 87 at the keypad. The display will indicate "Communication Failure". If the "System Trouble Report" (line 51) is programmed the system will try to send this report. A phone line failure may be caused by: A cut or missing phone line. A reversed connection (Tip, and Ring Reversed) A miswired jack To clear the error; Determine the cause of the failure and eliminate the cause. After eliminating the cause of the failure, wait at least ten seconds. The error will clear if the problem has been eliminated and the LED will stop flashing provided a failure has not occurred on the central station phone numbers. If a failure has occurred at the central station restore by entering # 87 * at the keypad.

Issue What scope should be used when programming the D720 keypad?   Solution   The D720 keypad must be programmed AREA WIDE scope only.
