📚 Overview:
Taking in consideration the outdated version of BVMS (9), the upgrade to BVMS 12.2 must be done in steps. Each version should not be more than ~two years apart. This prevents potential issues in the upgrade process.
See here the general availability of each BVMS version.
Note Because the 10.1 and 11.1.1 versions are not available anymore to be downloaded, Central Technical Support team can provide you this SW versions, but for that you have to provide them with some additional details: Installer:

Site details:
After the Central Technical Support team receive the above details, they will send you a document that must be signed by you and owner. |
⚠️ Please always check the BVMS Release notes to check the compatibility between the Operating system of your workstation and the BVMS version you want to install.
Important | Compatibility mode When an operator client is connected to an older version (than itself) of the (Enterprise) Management Server, it will run in compatibility mode.
In production systems it is not recommended to use versions which are released more than two years apart. See the functionality between Client and Server in the table from the Upgrade and Migration guide (page 27) |
After you upgrade BVMS on DIVAR IP, the Operator Client will prompt you to upgrade.
If you agree, the workstation copies the necessary files from the DIVAR IP and the Operator Client is installed.
Regular BVMS 12.1 or 12.2 installer will not run on any DIVAR IP all-in-one platform.
The upgrade shall be performed via DIVAR IP System Manager application.
For more information about upgrading BVMS on DIVAR IP all-in-one, please refer to one of the articles below, depending on the model you have:
Info BVMS Plus, BVMS Professional, and DIVAR IP All-in-one 6000/7000 can act as a BVMS Enterprise server and be expanded with subsystems. This expands the previously known Enterprise functionality to BVMS Plus, Professional, and DIVAR IP All-in-one 6000/7000 as well. Each workstation which is connected to the Enterprise management server should be licensed as MBV-XWST-xx, where xx is the BVMS version. |
Regular BVMS installer has to be used in the upgrade process on a BVMS standalone server.
If you want to upgrade all operator clients workstations to BVMS 12.2, this does not imply a server upgrade or any license upgrade. The system will still remain on BVMS version installed on it.
You can find the latest regular BVMS installer on the Download Area page (select Software > BVMS Video Management System > click Select)
As of BVMS 6.0 you can upgrade using 2 different ways when your system consists of multiple servers and workstations:
When you plan to update all workstations and servers, but are not able to do this at once, following sequence is recommended:
The BVMS Deployment guide, published in this article describes how the BVMS software can be automatically deployed using command-line arguments in combination with the setup package.
Bosch recommends testing these mechanisms in your specific environment first.
The following components require upgrading, depending on the existing deployment of your system. It is recommended to follow the order presented in the list below.
In some cases, update setup on Windows Server might fail, due to known OS bug (KB #4506040). In such case, please reboot the system and try running the setup again. |

In some cases the VSG installation package is separated from the BVMS installation package. The first VSG needs to be installed from the BVMS installation package, upgrades can also be installed with the smaller VSG package which can also be found in the ISSetupPrerequisites\VSG folder in the BVMS installation zip file. |
⚠️ For finalizing and confirming the upgrade, we recommend performing the tasks from the Upgrade and Migration guide (page 31) after the upgrade.
