Issue Trouble connecting to the D4412 with RPS / RAM IV using the DX4010i. What dip switches need to be set to make the DX4010i connect to the panel? What type of cable is needed between the DX4010i and the Laptop or PC? Solution RAMIV / RPS needs to be revision 3.6 or higher. Set the address 0 (Installer's mode) Dip Switches 6 and 8 in the off postion on the DX4010i. Use a NULL cable to connect the DX4010i to the Laptop or PC. For remote programming connection, use the RJ-16 to molex connector to the Aux / Data header. Lock the Installer or Reset Pin on the panel. In the RSP/ RAMIV Connection screen change the connection type from MODEM to ENHANCED DIRECT, then click connect. *If connected to a D4412 panel and the address is set wrong on the DX4010i then a message of "INVALID RAM PASSCODE" may be generated.

Issue The panel is waiting 30 seconds or so to dial out to central station after an instant alarm.   Solution   In the point index configuration , under GLOBAL POINT CONFIGURATION, check the Alarm Event Abort Window time which is used for alarm cancellation time. This is the time the panel will wait to transmit an alarm condition to central station unless it is cancelled before the time has expired. This feature is a SIA requirement used to prevent false alarms being reported by user error.

Issue Does the panel need to see a perimeter point faulted during the exit delay when arming All On to actually fully arm the system and not just Part Arm?   Solution   When the ARMING OPTIONS prompt Enable 'All On - No Exit ' feature is set to yes , the panel must see a perimeter point faulted during the exit delay in order to fully arm . If the panel does not see that , the panel will switch to PART ON to prevent a false alarm.

Issue Can I mix Heat Detectors and 2 wire smokes with a sounder when using a D132A Smoke Detector Polarity Reversing Module? Solution No. When a Heat detector goes into alarm it puts a short on the input zone to indicate the alarm. The D132A uses Aux power from the panel when the polarity reversal takes place and since a heat detector does not reset when polarity is reversed, it would put a direct short on the Aux power of the panel. Consequently everything connected to the same Aux power terminals would not function.
