This article explains how you can change the IP Matrix Passcode PIN when using Configuration Manager version lower than 7.50 & VIDEOJET decoder 7000 (VJD-7513) FW version lower than 10.22.   Use case: KBD-Digital keyboard VIDEOJET decoder 7000 (VJD-7513) USB to serial port adapter Configuration Manager The desire is to change or enter the PIN and activate the Auto-Lock feature.   Software environment Decoder FW 10.01.0036 CM 7.40.0069 and CM 7.30.0065   Step-by-step guide   Changing the Passcode PIN and saving the configuration on Configuration Manager for IP matrix has no effect on the Keyboard, until you disconnect the USB to serial adapter from the decoder (if you logout, you still have to enter the old Passcode)   The way to work with the Passcode is to enter one in Configuration Manager and save the configuration. Then if you press the logout key on the Keyboard, you will need to enter the Passcode PIN to gain control of the Keyboard. The time out period only takes effect after the USB to serial adapter is disconnected from the decoder and connected again. The only way to change the Passcode is to change it in Configuration Manager, save the configuration and disconnect the USB to serial adapter from the decoder and connecting it again.   1. Change the Passcode PIN and save the configuration on Configuration Manager.   2. Check the Keyboard if it is locked. 3. Logout (top soft key on the Keyboard). To log back in, you still have to enter the old Passcode. 4. Disconnect the USB to serial adapter from the decoder, wait a few seconds and plug it back in again.   5. The Keyboard will become unresponsive, until you press the <Prod> key to get the terminal prompt. 6. Press the terminal key and the keyboard will prompt for the Passcode. 7. OR, repeat Steps 1 to 3, then instead of disconnecting the USB convertor at Step 4, reboot the Decoder. Now the new Keyboard is locked, and the new Passcode PIN and time out are activated.    Note Please note that this behavior has been improved with the release of Configuration Manager v.7.50 and VJD Firmware v.10.22. By using the new versions of them you can activate the new PIN and Auto-Lock time immediately when saving the settings in the CM. Also, the release of Configuration Manager v.7.50 and VJD Firmware v.10.22 fixes the behavior when the list of cameras available to add to the IP Matrix goes from all the cameras scanned by the system and reachable on the local network (Listed under the "Network Scan" tab), to the cameras added on "My Devices"  ... Question   How can I connect an Intuikey keyboard to the Divar Network/ Hybrid 5000?   Answer   Use the keyboard connection on the back of the unit to connect a Bosch Intuikey keyboard using one of the following methods: 1. Connect using RJ11 adapter Connect the adapter as follows: red cable to the (-) of the keyboard control connector green cable connects to the (+) of the keyboard control connector white cable to ground blue cable to +12V RS-485 only on hybrid models.   2. Connect wires directly: strip the keyboard cable (or equivalent cable) to connect leads directly Cut off one of the connectors at the end of the cable. Strip the cable wires. Attach the stripped wires to the keyboard connector on the back of the DVR according to the illustration below. Insert the attached cable connector into the DVR connector on the back of the keyboard.   For short distances (up to 30 m), standard 6-core telecom flat cable can be used to supply signal connections for the keyboard (LTC 8558/00). Always use the Keyboard Extension Kit (LTC 8557) for distances over 30 m between the keyboard and the DVR; this kit provides junction boxes and cables. Maximum cable length: 30 m (using standard 6-core telecom flat cable), or 1.5 km (using Belden 8760 or equivalent). The appropriate power supply (11 - 12.6  VDC, maximum 400 mA) to externally power the keyboard must be purchased separately.   RS485 port connection (only hybrid models) Use the RS485 connector to connect Bosch, Pelco-P or Pelco-D controllable cameras to the unit for pan, tilt, and zoom control. RS485 is a single-direction protocol; the PTZ device can’t return any data to the unit. Since RS485 is disabled by default for each camera, you must enable the PTZ settings as follows: Connect a suitable cable to the RS485 connection on the DVR rear panel. Connect the other end of the cable to the appropriate pins in the camera connector. Follow the instructions in the Operation section of this manual to configure the camera for PTZ control. The Bosch protocol is supported with the following baud settings: – 9600 baud – 8 data bits – 1 stop bit – no parity – no flow control   RS485 connector: Max. signal voltage is -8 to +12 V. The recommended cable cross section is AWG 28-16 (0.08-1.5 mm2). Question   How can you avoid the MIC Inteox & Starlight 7100i camera wipers getting stuck?   Answer   The root cause of the malfunctioning of wiper is the corrosion of the components where the wiper is connected to the camera (items below)   It is advised to activate the wiper daily on all current installed cameras, to prevent the wipers get stuck. This can be easily programmed via the Alarm rules as this is a default functionality of the camera.   For cameras that the wiper has not failed, the wiper should be moved 1x / day so that the wiper shaft is moved regularly.  Please set the wiper to move automatically at a time that is convenient for you.   Replacing a wiper assembly:   1. Put a piece of thin, protective material between the window glass and the wiper to prevent accidental damage.   2. With one hand, hold the wiper arm firmly in place to restrict rotational movement. 3. With the other hand, using a 7mm Hex socket or nut driver, rotate the acorn nut counterclockwise until fully unthreaded from the wiper shaft.   4. Remove the wiper spring, hub, arm, and blade assembly from the wiper shaft.   5. Take the new wiper arm and assemble to the new wiper hub.   6. Take the new blade assembly and insert into the new wiper arm.   7. Slide the new wiper hub and attached parts onto the wiper shaft.   8. Slide the new wiper spring onto the wiper shaft and over the new wiper arm.   9. Apply Loctite 243 to the acorn nut cavity. Lightly thread the new acorn nut onto the wiper shaft over the new wiper spring and new wiper hub.   10. With one hand, hold the new wiper arm firmly in place to restrict rotational movement and to keep the wiper assembly parallel with the flat top of the glass. 11. Question   Is DIVAR IP 6000 R1 compatible with VRM v.3.83.0021 (64-bit) and BVMS Viewer 10.1?   Answer   BVMS Viewer 10.1 requires VRM 3.83.0021 (64-bit) (see page 9 from the BVMS Viewer 10.1 release note): https://resources-boschsecurity-cdn.azureedge.net/public/documents/BVMS_10.1_Release_Note_enUS_80113564043.pdf   However, DIVAR IP 6000 R1 runs on Windows Storage Server 2008 R2, which is not compatible with VRM 3.83.0021 (64-bit). VRM 3.83.0021 (64-bit) requires Windows Server 2012R2, Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2019. Given this, VRM 3.83.0021 (64-bit) is not compatible either with Windows 10 Pro which runs on the BVMS server, so it would require a different server. This VRM 3.83.0021 (64-bit) version is not tested and supported in older operating systems, so DIP 6000 R1 does not support this new version. It is a hardware limitation. Given the Windows version running on DIVAR IP 6000 R1, it is compatible with VRM 3.71 but that version is not compatible with BVMS Viewer 10.1. It is only compatible with BVMS version 8.0. Possible causes and solution(s)   Causes System setup: BVMS 10.1 DNR 2000/3000 The DNR relays are configured as error relays. If a configured error occurs the relay switches and connection to the control center is established.   Issue: The relay needs to be configured in automatic mode. If you change the relay manually to ON or OFF with BVMS Operator Client, the setting in DNR also change to manual mode. By changing the setting at DNR to manual mode, the automatic alarm function does not work anymore. Not until you log in with browser into DNR and set it back to automatic mode then it works again.   Solution In the local menu and or web client you can switch from Automatic to manually and vice versa. Same with BVMS you can send a command to switch from automatic to manually control. But then it stays on manual control. This is the present designed behavior.   You can change the relay mode back to automatic via a script executed when the relay open event is triggered. Important Note: the script is specifically tailored for the DIVAR network 2000, which was 2 relays. Other DIVAR models have more, so if needed, the script will need to be adapted all that needs to be done to the script is to change the IP address, user name and password for the 2 relays to what is used on site; and of course deployment in BVMS   Please find attached the script and instructions below:     ...
