How to determine the max distance the DX2010 can be remote located from the control panel.
This distance is determined by whether or not the DX2010 is supplying auxiliary power to devices. The DX2010 has the capacity to provide 12 VDC at up to 100 mA from the Aux Output terminals to power external devices such as motion detectors.
Issue
Can I mix Heat Detectors and 2 wire smokes with a sounder when using a D132A Smoke Detector Polarity Reversing Module?
Solution
No. When a Heat detector goes into alarm it puts a short on the input zone to indicate the alarm. The D132A uses Aux power from the panel when the polarity reversal takes place and since a heat detector does not reset when polarity is reversed, it would put a direct short on the Aux power of the panel. Consequently everything connected to the same Aux power terminals would not function.

Zone 4 Lit steady = Slow Flash = Backup Battery Missing
Zone 5 Lit steady = Bell Supervision Fail
Zone 6 Lit steady = RF Receiver Jamming
Zone 6 Slow Flash = RF Receiver Trouble
Zone 7 Lit steady = Data Bus Device Missing
Zone 7 Slow Flash = Data Bus Device Tamper
Zone 7 Fast Flash = Data Buss Device Trouble/Reset
Zone 8 Lit steady = System Fault
Zone 8 Slow Flash = Service Interval
Zone 8 Fast Flash = Ground Fault Condition
Press Cmd to return to the off state.
Issue
The panel is waiting 30 seconds or so to dial out to central station after an instant alarm.
Solution
In the point index configuration , under GLOBAL POINT CONFIGURATION, check the Alarm Event Abort Window time which is used for alarm cancellation time. This is the time the panel will wait to transmit an alarm condition to central station unless it is cancelled before the time has expired. This feature is a SIA requirement used to prevent false alarms being reported by user error.
Issue
Silencing the Alarm on an 8112.
Solution
The audible alarm has a specific period of time it sounds before automatically shutting off. If an alarm occurs and you want to silence it before the time expires, simply enter your personal passcode and the alarm will stop.
To silence your Alpha II during a service alert, press COMMAND 4 to reset the alarm. To silence your security system:
• Enter your personal passcode for audible alarms.
or
• Enter COMMAND 4 for service alerts.
NOTE: Some installations are programmed so that the alarms cannot be silenced until the zone is restored to normal (non-alarmcondition.
