Overview The Bosch Security Systems D221 Answering Machine Disconnect Module allows you to remotely disconnect an answering machine that shares a phone line with a Bosch Security Systems control panel. When the answering machine disconnects the phone line is available to the control/communicator for remote programming (RPS) functions. A Touch-tone® telephone at the RAM site is required to perform the disconnect procedure. The D221 can be installed with an existing modular telephone jack or be a replacement for an RJ-11 jack.   Issue   What activates the module to disconnect the answering machine?   Solution   From a touch tone phone call the phone line, let the answering machine answer the line. The # key or the 8 key will activate the module. 1) module white jumper cut = # key 2) module black jumper cut = 8 key **Note: The RAM session is not affected when the D221 restores the phone line to the answering machine. Some answering machines record tones generated during the RAM session. If the D221 Module is used with an integrated telephone/ answering machine device, pressing the activation key ([#] or [8]) during normal use may activate the D221 and disconnect the device for 3 to 5 minutes.

Issue How to arm entire system with delays.   Solution   To arm the entire system with delays, follow the steps below: COMMAND 1 is used to arm the entire system, both perimeter and interior zones. Once you have entered COMMAND 1, the exit delay time starts. You now have a predetermined amount of time to exit the protected area before the system arms. During the exit period, you may move through motion detectors or any protected area on your way to the exit door without causing an alarm. To cancel COMMAND 1, enter your personal passcode and press ENT. NOTE: If you leave the building after the exit time expires, you may begin the entry delay, or initiate an alarm. If this happens, disarm your system by entering your personal passcode and press ENT . If your system reports to a Central Station, you may need to call them if an alarm occurs. Application COMMAND 1 is useful in applications where you want your cleaning service, a serviceperson or anyone to arm your system when they leave, but you do not want them to have the passcode to disarm the system. COMMAND 1 arms the system, but it will not disarm the system. Arming with COMMAND 1: 1. Ensure that all zones are secure. All of the Zone Status indicator lights on the Command Center should be off. 2. Press the COMMAND bar. The Command Mode indicator light comes on. 3. Press the 1 key. The PERIMETER indicator and the INTERIOR indicator lights begin to flash on and off. This indicates that the system has begun exit delay time. 4. To disarm your security system or cancel COMMAND 1, enter your personal passcode and press ENT before the delay time expires.

Issue Does the panel need to see a perimeter point faulted during the exit delay when arming All On to actually fully arm the system and not just Part Arm?   Solution   When the ARMING OPTIONS prompt Enable 'All On - No Exit ' feature is set to yes , the panel must see a perimeter point faulted during the exit delay in order to fully arm . If the panel does not see that , the panel will switch to PART ON to prevent a false alarm.
