The purpose of this article is to help you disabling the compass character from the Screen Display (OSD) of the PTZ camera via its web interface . This example was troubleshooted on one MIC Inteox 7100i camera with FW version 8.45.0032. This guide could be applied if characters are displayed as in the following image:   Article requirements PTZ camera Browser PC   Step-by-step guide   1. First, open one Browser, type the IP address of the camera and authenticate with its credentials 2. Please check in the camera OSD , if there is a scene with the same name as the compass character. If yes, please rename them. (Configuration > expand the Camera menu > select Pre-positions and Tours)   3. Make sure that everything is disabled on the display stamping page and there are no mappings configured: 🛈 “Display stamping” submenu could be found in Configuration > General menu or in Configuration > Camera menu. This depends on the camera model you have.   4. Check if the compass is off:  Configuration > Camera > PTZ Settings Also, if you don't want to see the Azimuth info on the camera image, please make sure that the Azimuth option is set to "Off"   Now, the compass character should disappear from the Screen Display (OSD) of the PTZ camera    5. If you still encounter this issue even that you enabled the compass display in PTZ settings and this is displayed if the camera is moving around, try to factory reset of the camera.   Nice to know: Please note that if you perform the factory reset for the camera from the menu (not SC default), the IP address won't change (only the configuration will be defaulted).  Info For the current article , the following devices/firmware/software versions were used: MIC IP starlight 7100i  (CTN MIC-7522-Z30xR), firmware 7.89.0045 Configuration Manager 7.72.0106 Be aware that as a result of ongoing firmware upgrades, users of Bosch cameras can expect enhancements and modifications in the web interface.   Short intro and related topics: One of the reason why UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) is enabled in our devices is because ONVIF uses this to scan the ONVIF device in the network. If you don’t need to scan ONVIF devices in the network using ONVIF method, you can switch of the SSDP Discovery Service. SSDP protocol can discover Plug & Play devices, with uPnP (Universal Plug and Play). SSDP uses unicast and multicast address (239.255.255.250). SSDP is HTTP like protocol and work with NOTIFY and M-SEARCH methods. "225.86.67.83 " is Bosch Multicast discovery address. When you block this address you cannot scan devices via multicast ⚠️ Be aware that the RCP documentation indicates that the UPnP option is not available for CPP13 and CPP14 cameras:   Step-by-step guide   1) Solution for UPnP: please disable this in the camera settings, if not used when disabling UPnP via cameras webpage, there is no traffic on SSDP to 239.255.255.255 this setting can be found under Network > Network Management > UPnP on/off Network > Network Services 2) The broadcast discovery address, for example: "225.86.67.83", cannot be changed. In some cases, especially if you use a 3rd party PC as DICENTIS Server, it could be necessary to update your network driver. For example, if discussion units show a red LED from time to time or your DICENTIS is dropping out it could be related to the network driver. Be aware that a normal Windows Update will not refresh this driver and you have to update it manually!   Step-by-step guide:   Update Procedure   1. First search "View network connections"   2. Press on " Update Driver..." Most of the time it is not finding any driver please search manual in the internet! You can find the type of Network Card in the overview and in my case it is Intel I219-LM.   3. To do a manual search go to the home page of for example Intel and search your driver. Please pay attention to choose the right Windows Server 2016 or 2019.   4. In the overview you can see that it was updated to a newer version. Update 12.18.8.4 to 12.18.9.10 (In this example a DICENTIS Server1 was updated on 13rd of April 2021 to 12.18.9.10.
