Issue What are  the proper steps to default a DS7100?   Solution   Enter program mode with a valid installers code #0 ( 98765 #0 ) is the default code. Or press and hold the S1 switch for 6 seconds. Enter address 839# Then press the S1 switch for 6 seconds.   Warning: Defaulting the DS7100 will erase all programming and user data in the system resulting in a system that needs to be reprogrammed. Notice: This panal is equipped with Anti-Takeover Protection; all or part of the programmming may be locked so the program cannot be changed should someone attempt to take over the account.

Issue Trouble connecting to the D4412 with RPS / RAM IV using the DX4010i. What dip switches need to be set to make the DX4010i connect to the panel? What type of cable is needed between the DX4010i and the Laptop or PC? Solution RAMIV / RPS needs to be revision 3.6 or higher. Set the address 0 (Installer's mode) Dip Switches 6 and 8 in the off postion on the DX4010i. Use a NULL cable to connect the DX4010i to the Laptop or PC. For remote programming connection, use the RJ-16 to molex connector to the Aux / Data header. Lock the Installer or Reset Pin on the panel. In the RSP/ RAMIV Connection screen change the connection type from MODEM to ENHANCED DIRECT, then click connect. *If connected to a D4412 panel and the address is set wrong on the DX4010i then a message of "INVALID RAM PASSCODE" may be generated.

Issue D7112 Panel battery will not hold a charge. Solution A slow flashing (1 sec on, 1 sec off) yellow LED with the green CPU LED off indicates a power supply overload condition.  The panel detects the battery as missing and the power supply cannot meet the power demand of the devices on the panel. The panel is shut down.

  Issue Symptom The keypad displays Oct. Relay Fault. Probable Cause The octal relay module ( DS7488 ) is defective or the wiring to the module is defective. Issue How is the phone line monitor turned on or off in programming?   Solution   DS7100 version 5.03 or higher. The phone line monitor feature has been enhanced to provide output to allow enabling or disabling of the featrure through programming and to automatically reset after the phone line is restrored. The feature is controlled in data digit 2 of program address 89. To enable the phone line fault monitor without an audible output, program line 89 as 0200. To enable the phone line fault monitor with a keypad warning beep when the system is disarmed and siren output when the system is armed, program line 89 as 0600. To disable phone line fault monitor program line 89 as 0000.
