Issue
Symptom
What would cause the programmer to display ( Plug in 7112) when you press send or receiver
Diagnosis
The programmer is not correctly connected to the D7112.
Solution
Verify that the data/power cord is plugged securely in the programmer port J4, on the D7112.
Verify that the data/power cord is plugged securely into the communicator port on the D5200 programmer
Check each conductor in the data/power cord for continuity
Part numbers D7112, D5200
How to program Point Type 11: AUX AC Supervision?
When configuring a point as Point Type 11, how should I set the point response, and how does this point type work with AC fail?
Issue
The D4412/D6412 panel reports zones (zones 10o,101,102)when reporting to a D6500 receiver sending Modem IIIa2.
Solution
Only the following central station receivers support the D6412/D4412 Modem IIIa2 Format: • D6600 with CPU v.01.01.03 (or higher) • D6500 with D6511 MPU v1.05 (or higher) .The D6500 with D6510 MPU does not support the D6412/D4412 Modem IIIa2 Format.
Note: Normal operation when using the A,B,C keys, reporting is as follows:
[A] key reports as Zone 100 for all areas
[B] key reports as Zone 101 for all areas
[C] key reports as Zone 102 for all areas
Issue
How do I tell if my wiring is good and all the devices are connected on the D6112 keypad bus?
Solution
Remove the data wires from terminals 11 and 13 on the control panel. Also remove the power going to those devices. Using a multimeter set to read resistance, place one lead on a data wire and the other lead on the other data wire.
The correct resistance reading should be 9K Ohms per device connected.
Number of device / Device Resistance / Wire / Max resistance
1 9 k ohms 15 k ohms 23 k ohms
2 18 k ohms 15 k ohms 32 k ohms
3 27 k ohms 15 k ohms 41 k ohms
4 36 k ohms 15 k ohms 50 k ohms
Issue
Bell output only activates for 30 seconds even though it is programmed for 99 minutes.
Solution
When the fire bell time (address 0195 in version 3, address 4032 in version 4) or burglary bell time (address 0196 in version 3, address 4033 in version 4) is set to 99 for a DS7400Xi version 3 or 4 this sets the bell cutoff time to 30 seconds.
For indefinite bell output then these programming addresses should be set to 00. For 98 minutes of bell output these should be set to 98.

Issue 1.) The D7112 receives a busy signal for all ten attempts to reach the receiver.
Diagnosis
Calls are not reaching the receiver
The receiver call load could be too great.
Issue 2. )What would cause the receiver to answer the call and provide an acknowledgment tone, but the communicator does not transmit reports?
Diagnosis
The receiver is not producing the correct acknowledgement tones.
The D136 relay in J10 for ground start phone systems is inserted incorrectly.
Solution
Verify that the correct prefixes and phone numbers for the receiver have been programmed into the D7112.
Verify that the phone lines are not shorted between the phone company's equipment and the receiver by placing a call to the number for the receiver. If you hear the line ring, but the ring detector doesn't light, or if you hear a busy signal and the green "on the line" (OL) indicator is not lit, call the phone company for service.
Verify that the receiver is producing a 2300 Hz or Modem II acknowledgment tone.
Verify the D136 relay is in the socket J10 correctly.
