Overview: User is entering passcode twice to arm alarm system. A five second delay between key strokes will cause the keypad to view the next entry as the start of a NEW passcode. Key strokes must be strung together with no pauses in between longer that 5 seconds. Issue User must enter passcode twice to arm the system.  Same code is used for both entries.   Solution   The user is pausing too long between key strokes.  After a key is pressed the next key stroke must be pressed wthin 5 seconds. A delay of 5 or more seconds will cause the keypad to view the next key stroke as the start of a new entry.

Issue How can you arm the perimeter without delays?   Solution   Arm the Perimeter without Delays COMMAND 2 is used to arm only the perimeter of your building, leaving the interior of the building disarmed. This command allows no exit or entry delay time through the perimeter, including the designated delay door. Although this command does not send a "Closing Report" to the Central Station, it will still send alarms. Enter your personal passcode plus ENT to cancel COMMAND 2. Application This arming command is useful in residential systems at night when everyone is home and ready to retire for the evening. In commercial installations, this arming command is useful when you are working late and you want the perimeter of the building armed until you are ready to leave. Arming with COMMAND 2: 1. Ensure that all perimeter zones are secure (interior zones are not armed with this command and may remain faulted while arming with COMMAND 2). 2. Press the COMMAND bar. The Command Mode indicator light comes on. 3. Press the 2 key. The PERIMETER  and INSTANT indicator lights comes on. This indicates that the perimeter zones are armed without entry/exit delay time. 4. To disarm your security system or cancel COMMAND 2, enter your personal passcode and press ENT before the delay time expires.

Issue Trouble connecting to the D4412 with RPS / RAM IV using the DX4010i. What dip switches need to be set to make the DX4010i connect to the panel? What type of cable is needed between the DX4010i and the Laptop or PC? Solution RAMIV / RPS needs to be revision 3.6 or higher. Set the address 0 (Installer's mode) Dip Switches 6 and 8 in the off postion on the DX4010i. Use a NULL cable to connect the DX4010i to the Laptop or PC. For remote programming connection, use the RJ-16 to molex connector to the Aux / Data header. Lock the Installer or Reset Pin on the panel. In the RSP/ RAMIV Connection screen change the connection type from MODEM to ENHANCED DIRECT, then click connect. *If connected to a D4412 panel and the address is set wrong on the DX4010i then a message of "INVALID RAM PASSCODE" may be generated.

Issue Does the panel need to see a perimeter point faulted during the exit delay when arming All On to actually fully arm the system and not just Part Arm?   Solution   When the ARMING OPTIONS prompt Enable 'All On - No Exit ' feature is set to yes , the panel must see a perimeter point faulted during the exit delay in order to fully arm . If the panel does not see that , the panel will switch to PART ON to prevent a false alarm.
