Question   How does the ‘Active profile’ work for Flexidome Multi 7000i camera?   Answer   "Active profile" shows the non-recording profile when recording is off.  When the "Encoder Streams" menu is accessed while the device is recording, the following message appears at the top of the page: “Recording is currently active".  When recording is on, the "Active profile" shows the recording profile. So in case of recording off, you can change Active profile in the drop-down menu from “Non-recording profile”. When recording is on, the active profile is managed by *“Recording profiles”. This is working as designed and therefore, selecting alternate active profiles for stream 1 for all cameras will not be possible and you will have to select profile 2: Balanced.     Note:  Stream settings can be chosen for each of the 4 cameras separately and each stream has their own active profile. Keep in mind that any settings made to the “Stream limits” affect options for each stream. Stream limits decree what the maximum resolution is for each stream. For stream 2 and 3, lower resolution settings can still be made in the non-recording profile editor.   *“Recording profiles" menu: You can make changes to the recording options on a per-camera basis for both recorders; 8 settings in total. When you make changes (for example, from continuous recording to pre-alarm recording), there is no way to see that this was changed in the table. Therefore, to check if everything is set-up correctly, you need to check each camera-recorder combination in the list one-by-one and for each profile.   Good to know: Below you will find the profile number description, as described in the Operation Manual:   Profile number Description Profile 1 For a high resolution image, the video bit rate and frame quality are adjusted to ensure that the picture quality is the priority. Profile 2 For a high resolution image, the video bit rate and frame quality are adjusted to a median profile for everyday use. Profile 3 For a high resolution image, the video bit rate and frame quality are adjusted to ensure that the bit rate is the priority. Profile 4 For a low resolution image, the video bit rate and frame quality are adjusted to ensure that the picture quality is the priority. Profile 5 For a low resolution image, the video bit rate and frame quality are adjusted to a median profile for everyday use. Question   How do I change the default IRR audio file location in CSoft 7.700 or later?   Answer   Due to changes in file architecture beginning with C-Soft 7.700, the file location can no longer be changed using CSoft Designer.  To change the file location for your IRR audio recordings, you will need to be running at least TSM version 3.0 or later. Once you have TSM running, you will need to log into CSoft with TSM just like you would do for the IP-224s and ADHB-4s.  If this the first time running TSM 3.00 or greater, you will need to change the default password for CSoft. This can be done in the TSM ACCOUNT tab.  After you have changed the Password, click on the "Write to device" icon.  On the screen that pops up, leave the password as the default one and then record to the device.  Once the password is no longer default and you are logged into CSoft on TSM, then you go the the DIRECTORY tab. This is where you can change the location of where the audio files are stored. There is not a browse function on this, so you will either need to manually type in the directory location or copy and paste the location in.  After you have put in the path to where you want the audio files to be saved to, you will need to write to the device in order to save the change. When and why This article describes how to connect with for example VLC-player directly to the Multicast group where the Encoder is streaming into. Although the camera streams only 1x the RTP packets into the particular Multicast group, the camera keeps track on the clients that obtain the Multicast stream. Due to this, you will have a limitation of ~64 clients. This is because the connecting client asks the camera for a stream on its IPv4 address and the camera than directs them to the Multicast-group when applicable. When a client uses a SDP file during the connection, the MC-Address+port is known in advance and therefore direct join of the MC-Group is possible without sending a request to the camera first. By using this method the Maximum amount of client connections depends on the network capabilities and no longer on the camera.   Prerequisites Before you can connect via the SDP-file, the camera must already stream into the MC-group you have defined in the file Therefore, ensure that at least 1 RTSP-Multicast connection is made via multicast on request. In this example we let 1st stream into specific IP 226.1.2.3 with port 60010; for this you can use following syntax: rtsp://10.0.7.252/&multicast_video=1&mc_group_video=226.1.2.3&mc_port_video=60010 Note that: in the camera menu under Multicast settings turning ON the streaming has no effect for RTSP From release letter MPEG-ActiveX_6.34.0174.pdf MC Streaming works only if a RCP+ connection is established. If multicast streaming is enabled, a device can only connect to the stream if a RCP+ connection exists. Although the multicast address is enabled, the IP address must be set in addition Ensure the the used stream and its active encoding profile are configured with a FIX GOP length (I-Frame distance) of e.g. 30 and not set to "Auto" this is to avoid I frame refreshment time out.
