Question   Is it possible to configure each FLEXIDOME multi 7000i camera imager separately?   Answer   Each camera imager can be configured separately and therefore many settings can be made and checked separately. Settings in the Installer Menu can be made on a per-camera basis, including sensor mode, image rotation & lens settings with the lens wizard. Please find below some settings you can do separately for each FLEXIDOME multi 7000i camera imager on the camera’s web page:   Camera > Positioning   As there are 4 camera modules in the housing which can be moved independently, each module can have tilt, roll, height and focal length set separately. Of course, setting height differently for each camera does not make sense.   Camera > Color   Color can be changed per camera module.   Camera > Enhance   For Flexidome multi 7000i it was added a new option: a slider for contrast enhancement. Backlight compensation is only available with HDR turned off in Sensor Mode. Note that Temporal Noise Filtering and Spatial Noise Filtering are not configurable.   Camera > Encoder Streams   Stream settings can be chosen for each of the 4 cameras separately and each stream has their own active profile. Keep in mind that any settings made to the “Stream limits” affect options for each stream. Stream limits decree what the maximum resolution is for each stream. For stream 2 and 3, lower resolution settings can still be made in the non-recording profile editor. Stream priority can be set to none, 1, 2 and 3. Stream 4 can never be the priority stream. IMPORTANT! The Frame and bit rate test can be found at the bottom of the page.   To check what impact the stream settings have on the actual frame and bit rate, use the Frame and bit rate test at the bottom of the screen. Note that selecting one, or more, streams affects the frame rate of each stream. With certain settings for example, having only Stream 1 enabled ensures maximum bandwidth, but adding stream 2 significantly drop stream 1’s frame rate. The tool is great to check if the newly created settings work as intended. Privacy masks (8) can be set up for each of the 4 camera modules separately.   Recording > Recording Profiles   You can make changes to the recording options on a per-camera basis for both recorders; 8 settings in total. When you make changes (for example, from continuous recording to pre-alarm recording), there is no way to see that this was changed in the table. Therefore, to check if everything is set-up correctly, you need to check each camera-recorder combination in the list one-by-one and for each profile. Audio can only be recorded with Camera 1 (greyed out for the other cams, even when not selected for Camera 1), not all of them or chosen on/off per camera. Note: Configuration Manager can give a better overview of these settings   Recording > Maximum Retention Time   Retention time can be set for each camera module and each recorder (2 per camera module) separately.   Recording > Recording Status   Recording Status shows information for all 4 camera modules in one overview   Recording > Recording Statistics & Image Posting   Recording statistics are kept for all 4 camera modules and the image posting can also be configured separately for each camera module.   Network > Advanced   A Syslog server can be set-up so the logging can be written to an external server   Network > Multicast   Multicast settings are more involved as each camera module’s 4 streams can be given a multicast address as well as each module’s metadata and the one audio stream with its 3 encoding algorithms   Service > Logging > Event Logging   Event Logging is the same as in previous CPPs    Nice to know: For a better understanding of using FLEXIDOME multi 7000i cameras, we encourage you to join our online trainings from Bosch Building Technologies Academy! Question   Where is the “Display stamping” submenu of FLEXIDOME multi 7000i (CPP14 - Bosch cameras) in WEB UI?   Answer   ‘Display stamping’ submenu has been moved from the General menu to the Camera menu. Possible causes and solution(s)   The camera may be out of focus during a rapid zoom change if: There is a large amount of reflection with full sunlight. Or, there are headlights or bright lights present at night. This problem occurs most often when used in traffic applications.   Causes:   The camera tries to focus on the bright lights and fails to find the correct focus position (example snapshot of headlights below).   Solution: The camera block FW version 1.05 and higher has a new feature called “Spotlight Avoidance” for cameras made in November 2018 and later (table below). This improves the cameras ability to ignore the “bright lights” while focusing. It will base the focus on the rest of the FOV. This is useful in challenging conditions such as traffic flow, airports, and areas with a large amount of bright lights at night. Refer to the table below for the models that support this feature. Please see also the following article: MIC 7000i/9000i - Camera Block Firmware Upgrade for Firmware 7.60.0118 and higher This is OFF by default, since in most applications it is better to use the entire FOV to obtain the focus. There isn’t a Config Manager or Web GUI setting available to activate this. The command to activate this is listed below. Additional Options: If there are still problems with focus in these conditions after Spotlight Avoidance is activated, then the following settings can be adjusted. Reduce the Iris Level from 8 down to 6 Daytime video will be improved by setting the Day Near Focus Limit to 3. The nighttime video will be improved by setting the Night Near Focus Limit to equal the mounting height of the camera. Possible causes and solution(s)   MIC IP 7000i/ 9000i Bosch camera - Camera Block Firmware Upgrade for Firmware 7.60.0118 and higher   Cause:   MIC 7000i with FW 7.72 shows blurred images. After restart, the quality of the image is good for a short time, but the issue reappear.   Only Applicable to these models: MIC 7000i (MIC-7502-Z30x) MIC 9000i (MIC-9502-Z30x)   System Requirements Web Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 or Mozilla Firefox; DirectX 11; Bosch MPEG-ActiveX 6.33 and Configuration Manager 6.20 or higher Prerequisite - Serial Numbers impacted (Camera block FW less than v1.06) A new camera block was released in November 2018, but the CTN # didn’t change. The two digit lot code in the serial number was incremented. This upgrade is only applicable to this lot code or higher. NOTE: If the CTN # isn’t provided, the 4th digit of the S/N is the Type Code that can be used to identify the applicable CTN. Please note that the digits 13 and 14 Lot Code ranges are different for each CTN.   Overview The upgrade takes place in two steps. • The first step is to update the entire camera using either Configuration Manager (CM) or the Web Browser. This uses the standard upgrade process. • The second step requires the Web Browser to start the internal camera block FW upgrade. Once the camera block FW upgrade has started, the remainder of the upgrade takes place inside the camera.   Solution:   Step 1: FW upgrade to FW 7.60.0116 or higher – Using either CM or Web Browser – These MIC cameras should never have any FW version less than 6.60. • In order to upload version 6.51 or higher to a device running a firmware version below 6.50, you need to upgrade first to version 6.50, since older firmware versions do not support firmware file • A video loss after the upgrade is possible. If this occurs, reset the camera again. • It is recommended to Default the camera after the 7.60 FW upgrade is completed.   Step 2: Camera block upgrade to FW 1.06 - This step must be initiated using the Web Browser. IMPORTANT: – Neither the Live page nor the Live preview window will refresh during the camera block FW upgrade, since no video is available for during this time. Video recording is also not possible during this process. – Make sure the camera has power continuously. (Do not remove power to the camera during the upgrade) 1. Browse to the CONFIGURATION>SERVICE>LOGGING>EVENT LOGGING; and then select NOTICE from the CURRENT LOG LEVEL drop down box. This is required to be able to see the progress of the FW upload. 2. In the URL field in the camera’s Configuration page, type the text that follows: http://<IPAddress>/Settings.html#page_cam_upload 3. The “Camera module upload” window appears and the current version of the camera block FW version is checked. – If the FW upgrade isn’t needed or isn’t applicable, then the message “Camera upload possible: 0” is displayed and the Start Upload button is disabled. – If an upgrade is required, the message “Camera upload possible: 1” will be displayed and Start Upload button will be available. 4. Click Start upload. The camera begins the firmware upload cycle which will take approximately 15 minutes.  Do not navigate to another GUI page and Do not remove power to the camera!   5. The progress of the FW upload is tracked and updated in the web browser. This screen shot is the example of the beginning of the process. Do not navigate to another GUI page and Do not remove power to the camera!   6. After the upload completes successfully, the message will go back to “Camera upload possible: 0”and the Start Upload button will be disabled again. The camera will reboot automatically. 7. After the reboot cycle completes, change the EVENT LOGGING LEVEL back to WARNING. 8. If the original FW was less than 7.10 then a Factory Default is recommended.
