This article describes how to change the communication ports that are used by the Bosch Forensic Search inside a Genetec installation.
The default communication port between the Bosch server components is 5051. It may happen that this port is already in use by another process and hence the setting needs to be changed. Such a situation would be exposed to the user as a 'Server error' when trying to execute a search and a log entry would be created, indicating the the FSS validation is not possible.
Bosch will undertake a cybersecurity best practice by disabling certain ports on the camera by default. This best practice is being undertaken to reduce potential attack surfaces and limit the exposure of sensitive services, as mentioned in our Data Security Guidebook since years.
At some point, the Central Technical Support team could ask you to provide them with a Configuration Manager table view export, for further investigation of your devices, such as a full overview of the installed cameras or with the cameras with a specific problem.
This article will help you to learn how to do this export.
The upgrade up to and including BVMS 11.1.1 should be done by using DIVAR IP Software Center packages.
Upgrade from Software Center to DIVAR IP System Manager is required to further upgrade to BVMS 12.0.0 and higher using System Manager packages.
