When scanning a QR or Data Matrix code on a label using the Project Assistant app, it can happen that you get an error message that the MAC address cannot be found (1) or that only part of the address is correctly extracted (2).
First of all, there are different types of labels:
product labels (on the device)
box labels (on the outside of the box/packaging)
installer / UX labels (inside the box /packaging)
Symptom (1) can only happen when scanning a product label because some QR or Data Matrix codes do not contain a MAC address, depending on the product, even though the MAC address is available in plain text right next to the code.
The box and installer label codes, however, always contain the MAC address information.
Symptom (2) can happen when scanning certain installer labels due to legacy formatting.
We have further standardized the labels so that the symptoms mentioned above will be resolved. There will be a transition period, however. As an alternative for symptom 1, you will have smooth experience when preferably scanning the box label. If you encounter symptom 2, we ask you to enter the MAC address manually or use the December 2018 release of the Project Assistant (version 1.2)
PS: For full transparancy on QR code / Data Matrix content and/or troubleshooting purposes, you can use conventional code scanning apps available in the resepective app stores.
Bosch software is distributed via the Bosch website, but can also be re-distributed by Bosch partners. The BVMS Operator Cliet can be automatically logged in by using parameterized startup. For this, a new shortcut to the OperatorClient.exe needs to be created, and the target of the shortcut needs to be adjusted. The text between ** needs to be adjusted to the specific situation.

The connection parameter works with BVMS 9.0 and newer. The username and password parameters are working from BVMS 5.0 onwards.
The username and password are stored as cleartext in the target of the shortcut, which could be considered a security risk.
This article describes how to factory default a DIVAR IP 5000 Unit
The DIVAR IP 5000 does not come with a internal DOM for recovery, but with SSD media inside with relevant recover partition used during new recovery process.
The Reset Button is used for two options of Recovering the unit - see installation Manual page 25 - chapter 8.2. The button is located on the lower left hand side of the appliances rear connection panel. This button is utilized in both reset procedures. The following order need to be kept and the manual corrected:
Defaulting Video Recording Manager (VRM)
To default an appliances previously configured VRM, with the appliance powered on and functioning.
Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds
Then the VRM database will be set to factory default; No recordings will be removed from the unit; And IP addressing will remain, as well as any modifications to the operating system (time settings etc.)

Power the appliance completely off.
Apply power, and only after LED activity is seen on the front of the appliance, press and hold the reset button.
After a few seconds an audible “beep” should be heard. This is a signal that the internal watch dog has acknowledged the reset request. Release the reset button
When the reimage process is finished the appliance will reboot. After reboot users can use the IPHelper.exe to connect to the appliance’s Configuration Wizard or use the Configuration Manager to monitor when the DIVAR IP 5000 comes back online.
The name that you assign to a camera in the Project Assistant is currently not displayed in the Configuration Manager device list. This will be fixed with the next version of the Project Assistant, which is planned to be released in November 2018.
