    Never lose track of an object of interest! Intelligent Tracking automatically zooms in to and follows a selected Intelligent Video Analytics object as far as possible with the camera. For AUTODOME / MIC IP 7000, this means automatically steering the camera to zoom in to the object and follow it. For a FLEXIDOME IP panoramic 7000, Intelligent Tracking is available in the Virtual PTZ video and steers the dewarped cut-out. For DINION / FLEXIDOME IP 7000 / 8000 cameras, Intelligent Tracking can steer a region of interest (ROI) stream. The technical note in the attachment discribes how to set Intelligent Tracking up with FW 6.30 and lists the differences based on the camera types.

    Object classification takes an object detected and tracked by either Essential or Intelligent Video Analytics, evaluates its geometric and speed properties, and decides whether the object is an upright person, a bike, a car or a truck.     The museum mode of Intelligent and Essential Video Analytics is an optimized tracking mode to detect whenever someone tries to reach towards and touch a valuable asset like a museum exhibit. It can also be used in any other application where approaching a sterile zone from a more crowded environment shall be detected. The attached tech note describes when and how to use it with FW 6.30.

    There are several Video Content Analysis (VCA) algorithms available in Bosch IP cameras: Tamper Detection, MOTION+, Essential Video Analytics, Intelligent Video Analytics and Intelligent Tracking. To receive alarm events from them and visualize the results, a client is needed. Each client can choose to present only a part of information and in a different way. The attached technical note gives a high-level overview of the clients supplied by Bosch and the different integration possibilities into 3rd party systems available today. Further information concerning integration into 3rd party software can be found at the Integration Partner Program (IPP) webpage.

    This article describes how to set LUNs on a target to Read Only via Configuration Manager. If you want to move a Storage from one VRM to another, this procedure is needed in Order to retain your video footage until the desired Retention Time is over. All you need is the Configuration Manager on a PC in the same Network as the VRM. If you don’t have the Configuration Manager, you can download it here.     Please be aware that setting the LUNs to Read only will decrease the Capacity of the VRM, which might lead to a lower Minimum Retention Time then desired. Calculate upfront, if the available Storage is enough!   Start the Configuration Manager and add the local VRM to the System.     Change to the Tab My devices and select the Target on the Storage Device you want to move.   Set all LUNs to the Type Read Only. It should look like this then. Now press the button Set and acknowledge it in the next window. After, the window looks like this and the LUNs are now in Read Only Mode. Now you need to wait until your desired Retention time passed (eg 30 days), afterwarts you can remove the Storage from the VRM and add it to another VRM (In this Process the Storage needs to be Factory defaulted to work).

     The Software "VIDOS" or "VIDSO-NVR" with the replay tool "Archive Player for VIDOS" are all rather outdated former software developments of BOSCH ST. We kindly request all our partners and customers in the need to get technical support on license transfers to get in contact with a local BOSCH team (e.g. Sales contact person). Level 2 Support / ASA organization can assist and help you to find a correct contact person as well, but a support ticket should and can no longer be created as license transfers are no longer offered for discontinued and outdated software. Status of Aug 3, 2018   In many countries, the VIDOS Software went end of live 2011. With this announcement, we inform about the discontinuation of the software maintenance and license transfers. Please be aware of the EOL status (End of life). EOL was rolled out globally in June 30, 2011 with some exceptions in North America. December 31, 2012 and later it was no longer possible to purchase the software. End of 2015 License management was restricted. Due to many other changes (Operating system limitations and not state of the art security support), it is anyhow no longer possible to use those software. BOSCH does offer for a long time other software generations and we offer migration support from commercial side to find software today that can meet the needs in projects. Since 2018-08-03, BOSCH Support can no longer offer license transfers for VIDOS and similar former Software packages.     In this article we cover the following basic questions: How to Factory Default a NetApp E-Seires unit by using BOSCH tools and NetApp WEB GUI? How to download the NetApp Support Bundle of a reachable online NetApp Storage Array   How to Factory Default a NetApp E-Series that you bought via BOSCH sales channel? Using the BOSCH Configuraiton Manager 6.00 or 6.01 the NetApp models E2600, E2700 and E2800 can be managed. Especially we recommend to use the BOSCH Configuration Manager version 06.01 when using a NetApp E2800 to have all models (also former models E2700 and E2600) supported. Also in the BOSCH Configuraiton Manager 6.01 the Basic configuration for the initial setup is helpful as well as the Factoury Default option and Clear option is available. Of cours the NetApp E2800 offers also a WebGUI by using the IP of the management port of a controller. The following screenshot made from the BOSCH Conmfiguration Manager shows the options available in the tab "Basic Configuration" when a NetApp E-Series (DSA E-Series) is already added to a VRM system in the Configuraiton Manager. The Button "Defaults" is used to trigger the "Reset Storage Array" mechanism of NetApp. At a E2800 all configuration is eliminated but the Management Port IP still remains to ensure that the WEB GUI of NetApp and the communiction of the BOSCH Configuraiton Manager can still work. How to download the NetApp Support Bundle of a reachable online NetApp Storage Array In the Tab "My Devices" of the Configuration Manager 6.01 and newer versions you can also now download the Support Bundle (collection of logfiles) from a NetApp E2800 stroage system. Select the NetApp E2800 in your device tree that is added to a VRM system and right-click on it. There you find "File Download" and "Maintenance Log..." - Choose that to download the NetApp Support Bundle.

    Version 1.2.1 has been released for iOS only. It resolves an issue when trying to connect wirelessly to a FLEXIDOME IP 8000i camera. There was an issue where the operating system blocked the Wi-Fi access.

    The entire BVMS installation package, available on the downloadstore, contains the client as well as the server components. When a BVMS client needs to be deployed, all of this data (over 2.5GB) needs to be copied to the target workstation, which can be quite a challenge in some environments. Once the BVMS Management Server is set-up, it creates a client installation package (mainly used for the auto-upgrade functionality). This client installation package is a lot smaller compared to the full installation package and is located on the BVMS Management Server (assuming the default installation directory is used): C:\Program Files\Bosch\VMS\Update In order to use the client installation package: copy all the files in this directory from the management server to the new workstation and start BVMS.msi (please note Setup.exe will trigger the auto update mechanism, which will not work as there are no existing components to be updated). The MSI will start the installation process and will allow you to select Operator Client, Configuration client and/or SDK. Please note: The correct version of the .NET framework will need to be installed manually before this procedure is used. This can be found in the zip file available in the product catalogue: “zip file extraction location”\ISSetupPrerequisites\Microsoft .NET Framework x.x.

    With the introduction of the Configuration Manager 6.10, we will make the transition from one tool to the other smoother by offering an import feature, which allows you to import all cameras from a .bpassist project file without having to re-enter the individual credentials of each device. The feature allows you to: import one or multiple encrypted .bpassist project files at once automatic integration of device credentials check the software seal information to make sure configuration of each device has not been tampered with integrate the project file grouping into your existing structure create a backup of your system configuration after a successful import   Example: Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Import Project Assistant File..."    Select one or more .bpassist files that you want to import    After entering the project file passwords, the Configuration Manager can decypt the files and you will then be prompted with an overview of the project file content Choose where in your existing structure you want to integrate the new devices ("Import to group" section) Verify project file content Select, whether you want to create a backup after import Select, whether you want to keep the project file groups after import After successful import, you can find all newly added devices in your target directory

    Symptoms When using the BVMS 9.0 installer on a Windows 10 "October 2018 update" machine (Build 1809) the SNMP services cannot be installed. Diagnosis Microsoft has changed the way the SNMP services are installed in Windows 10 "October 2018 update". Solution The SNMP services need to be installed manually. This can be done  by opening the new "Settings App“: Click “Apps” Apps&Features Manage optional Features Install SNMP It can also be done using Powershell: DISM /online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:SNMP.Client~~~~0.0.1.0
