In the past (prior to Windows Server 2012 R2), in order to perform NIC Teaming, we would have needed two adapters which were from the same vendor, and a third-party software that would make the teaming possible and present the OS with just one “virtual” network card. Now from Windows Server 2012 R2 and up, this is built-in and its hardware agnostic. This means you can use whatever network cards you want and the teaming will work like a charm.

The purpose of this article is to assist you with the creation of mirrored drive sets in a DIVAR IP all-in-one 5000 Recording Appliance.   This procedure should be performed on new appliances that have not yet been deployed. ⚠️ Before performing this procedure you must aware of the following: • Performing this procedure on a commissioned system will result in none specific video loss • Re-imaging the appliance after performing this procedure will result in loss of all data and mirrored sets • Mirroring must be performed in “Disk Management” and not with the chipset provided in the hardware • Creating mirrored sets will result in a performance loss of 20% • All mirrored drives will be converted to “Dynamic Disks” during the mirror creation process • This process can be performed on a two or four drive units

Currently, most of the cameras are using profiles that are wrong created or profiles that actually belong to legacy cameras like the "excellent" profile. Therefore, the bitrates to the storage could be exceeded and probably will exceed during match when lot of motion is created. This article is focused on a method of creating a new profile with own parameters and make this new profile active.

When working with previous versions of BVMS, remote connectivity was cumbersome due to the amount of port mapping that needed to be configured. BVMS 7.5 provides a new method of remote connectivity utilizing Secure Shell (SSH) Tunnelling. SSH Tunnelling constructs an encrypted tunnel established by an SSH protocol/socket connection. This encrypted tunnel can provide transport to both encrypted and un-encrypted traffic. The Bosch SSH implementation also utilizes Omni-Path protocol, which is a high performance low latency communications protocol developed by Intel. Key management The BVMS SSH service generates a private and public key when it is started for the first time. Both keys are saved in an encrypted file. When the BVMS SSH service restarts this file is detected and the private key is read.   Step-by-step guide   1.Configuration   A. Installation There is little to no configuration required for this feature to function. The SSH Service must be installed and running. If deploying a BVMS Pro system, insure the SSH Service is part of the installation process. Recording Appliances that ship with BVMS 7.5 should have the service pre-installed. Check your “Services”. If the service has not been installed, the install package can be run from the BVMS 7.5 downloadable install package. If working with a DIVAR IP Recording Appliance, the appliance “Installer Package” must be used.   B. Port mapping entry The primary configuration step is to configure one (1) port forwarding for the BVMS Central Server to utilize port 5322 for both internal and external connections. This is the only port mapping entry that needs to be made for the entire system. The image below shows a sample configuration.   2. Operation   A. Login with the Operator Client After the basic configuration is done, logging in via Operator Client is very intuitive: From the log menu, select the “Connection” drop down menu, then Select <New…> You will be prompted to enter an IP address or DNS host name. You will also notice a cheat guide below the entry menu that will assist with address entry. Addressing must be in the following format:   ssh://IP or   servername:5322. In the example we used:   ssh://49.49.49.49:5322. After entering a properly formatted address, enter a valid user name and password. SSH users MUST have a password associated with their BVMS account. User accounts without a password cannot log in utilizing an SSH Connection.   B. Verification After connection is established via an SSH Tunnel, all communications between the BVMS Server (192.168.1.19) and a remote client (49.49.49.48) are encrypted. Below is a Wireshark Capture taken from the BVMS Server after a connection is established. C. Changing the SSH port Locate the SSH service configuration file in " C:\Program Files\Bosch\BVMS\bin " Open the configuration file and find the section below. Edit the value of the BvmsSshServicePort (the port should be unused) and restart the system.

The haneWIN DHCP server software implements a DHCP and BOOTP server based on RFC 2131. The DHCP Server is implemented as a native service for background operation, A Control Panel applet provides interactive access to the service. The server supports automatic DNS updates for DHCP configured clients. The latest version is available and can be downloaded from here. According to the Installation Manual of the DIVAR IP 7000/ 6000: All DIVAR IP systems are preconfigured with default network, user and iSCSI settings. By default, the virtual network adapter (the two physical NIC ports are teamed by default) is configured to obtain a valid network address from a DHCP server in the local network. The haneWIN DHCP server software supports multiple address pools for dynamic IP address assignment as well as fixed IP address assignment to clients.

This guide is meant to help you adding new cameras in VRM in Configuration Client and display their images in Operator Client. Before adding a new camera there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration: You are not exceeding the maximum number of channels allowed. Each unit has a maximum number of channels. For example: DIP 5000 AIO the maximum number of channels is 42 DIP 6000/ 7000 AIO the maximum number of channels is 128 You have the neccesarry number of licenses installed on the system The units come with 8 channels pre-licensed. If you want to add more cameras or encoders/ decoders, you need first to make sure that licenses have been purchased. The system has enough storage to cover the retention time of the cameras. If there is no storage available,   there is a risk that your system will stop recording. The bandwidth available of the unit is not exceeded. For example: Bandwidth   DIP 5000 AIO: 170   Mbit/s Bandwidth   6000/ 7000 AIO: 550   Mbit/s Article requirements: Operator Client Configuration Client Camera PC/ Server/ Workstation

How the video stream management works when using the Remote Portal connect feature? Does the cloud-service simply initiate the connection between device and client, or throughout the video stream as well?  For example: Assuming a Remote Connect, the camera is viewed by Video Security App (connecting via Remote Portal) — but physically connected via a local WiFI (LAN).  Does the video stream (from camera to client) remain only on the LAN? Or, does the video stream need to first process 'through' the cloud?

Load balancing is provided with respect to the bandwidth and the number of iSCSI connections and is configurable per IP address ( iSCSI target). For example: Load-balancing parameters are optimized for the DIVAR IP 5000 default configuration (JBOD). When running DIVAR IP 5000 in RAID 1 mode, load-balancing parameters may need adaptation in BVMS. Navigate in the device tree of BVMS Configuration Client to VRM devices > Local VRM > [Context Menu of the storage expansion] > Load Balancing ***Soft limits is an estimation of 20% base on hard limit value ** Note: Soft Limit not requires since 3.00.x   DIVAR IP all-in one: 5000: The DIVAR IP all-in one 5000 is a RAID 1 and JBOD supported small tower office server for up to 42 channels with 4 internal HDDs and a maximum storage capacity of 48 TB.  7000 2U: The DIVAR IP all-in-one 7000 2U is a RAID 5 and RAID 6 supported 2U rack appliance for up to 256 channels with 8 internal HDDs and a maximum storage capacity of 96 TB. 7000 3U: And the DIVAR IP all-in-one 7000 3U is a RAID 5 and RAID 6 supported 3U rack management appliance for up to 256 channels with 16 internal HDDs and a maximum storage capacity of 192 TB.    Nice to know: For a better understanding of the use of our Bosch products, we encourage  you to join our online Trainings from Bosch Building Technologies Academy When completing the Training Plan you will be able to register for a Expert Level classroom Training offered in different countries across the globe!
