Driver installation is required on the workstation where the KBD Universal XF Keyboard is connected
- Driver can be download from the official Bosch Security and Safety Systems page.
- Navigate to Products > Video System > Switching System and Keyboards > Keyboards > KBD Universal XF > Downloads > Software
Operational Check
When connecting the KBD Universal XF Keyboard to a workstation, the LEDs will blink once.
This indicates that the keyboard is detected by the workstation
Step-by-step guide
Unlike IntuiKey Series Keyboard, no configuration is required for the KBD Universal XF Keyboard to work with Bosch Video Client.
A. Setup procedure for Bosch Video Client:
1) Plug in the KBD Universal XF Keyboard to the workstation
2) Start the Bosch Video Client software.
⚠️ Minimum version required is BVC v1.7.5.093
3) KBD Universal XF Keyboard is ready!
B. Verify if Keyboard driver is installed correctly
1) Connect the Universal XF Keyboard to the workstation
2) Open the Windows Device Manager, and check if there is a DCZ device shown in the Other devices
3) If this is found, download the driver as mention above
4) After installation of the driver, a device called USB CDC serial port emulation is shown in the Ports (COM & LPT)
C. Login using Universal XF Keyboard
Pre-requisite:
- User name must exist in BVC account database
- Only numeric is supported for username and password
1) Press button 
to highlight User name textbox. The button should be illuminated.
2) Input the username eg.1234
3) Press button 
to highlight Password textbox. The button should be illuminated.
4) Input the password
5) Press button 
to logon
Note: Press button ESC to clear the information
⚠️ Known restriction:
• Keyboard driver is not installed on the workstation when installing Bosch Video Client software
• Customize of function button for the keyboard is not supported
• Creating of new Preset Scene by the keyboard is not supported
• Executing of Aux commands from keyboard is not supported
• Logoff of the Bosch Video Client using the keyboard is not supported
• Snapshot capture using the keyboard is not supported
Buttons and Functions
Jog Shuttle and Joystick Functions:
- Jog dial > Select item from lists
- Shuttle ring > Select image pane
- Joystick > Tilt and Pan the selected PTZ camera
- Knob > Zoom in / out the selected PTZ camera

1. Clear a video display
Pre-requisite:
- Ensure that Device list is highlighted in BVC
- Toggle
button to select Device list
1) Move the keyboard shuttle ring to highlight the Image Pane in yellow
2) Press ESC button to clear the video display
2. Execute a Preset Position
Pre-requisite:
- Ensure that Preset position are configured on the PTZ camera
- Ensure that the PTZ camera is highlighted in Yellow in the Image Pane
- Check that the

button. The button should be illuminated.
2) Press the Preset number
3) Press the OK button
3. Toggle the relay
1) Press 
button to highlight the Alarm Output Panel.
2) Press the logical number of the relay output to select the relay.

4. Scroll the logbook
